A user on SoccerAM.net (yes the dreaded site returns with more problems!!) is getting the following error message when trying to post or edit her profile on the site:

"Not Acceptable An appropriate representation of the requested resource /forums/posting.php could not be found on this server."

She was recently removed as moderator and since then hasn't been able to post. I've checked her permissions but it all seems in order.

Today I've also found out that another user is unable to post for some reason. This user was also removed as a moderator recently but has made posts since the sites return. But all of a sudden he can no longer make posts. He doesn't get the same error though, he gets an HTTP 406 error.

Can anyone help? I was told on PHPBB.com that this seems to be a hosting related problem. See here for reference:

That was me, and seemingly the problem vanished as quickly as it arrived. I have no idea whether or not the other user concerned is still having problems.

Suffice to say, that I did do all the usual things, as in delete cookies, empty internet history, reboot the modem and router, reboot the computer, run full system scans and so on, all to no avail, yet suddenly, I come home from work, and the issue was resolved.

Perhaps a glitch in the system somewhere?

The other user is still experiencing the same issues. Can someone have a look at this please?

I submitted a Support Ticket at the start of the week.

The 406 error is caused by the application firewall in front of the Apache webserver catching part of the content of the post as a potential attack.

PM me the IP address of the poster and the page they were attempting to post from (referrer page). That will give me enough information.

It should be mod_security acting up.

I'm getting the same error when trying to use a script on my site. All it does is gets a url and ID from one table, displays the url and enters the ID into another table

It happens on any page where i post a url into a database

I know LP have used this modules very long time, but why we get so many trouble that the blocking rule include some <a> tag and CJK character? Is the modules for Apache having so much problem?

* I read the notice, I think there should have instruction on what have been put in the input block and sent to server

** All user can google the error message (more accurate, that is the http status code you got) they got with the application name - you may get cause and solution if you are lucky.
Up to now, I found the problem come with the posting content....

*** The ultimate debug way: use firebug to see what you send. click the All button beside the Inspect -> Net
Sometime wrong cookie setting pwned you
