I made a change in photoshop and messed around with a picture of a road, which my brother took. Well, what do you think?

Well, since I don't really have any experience with any photo editing like this, I'm not sure if you will appreciate my comment on this or not. All I can say is that I like looking at pictures like this, however I can't really make them.

I like the purple shades which you used, and also how the road is tilted to one side. Other than that, to be honest there isn't that much special about this picture in my opinion. However, I think that with some work, and maybe a little practice, you could become a good photo editor. I would like to see your future work. I will be providing my e-mail address shortly once I get to editing my profile. If you don't mind could you send me some of the other stuff which you are making?

Anyway, in this computer based world, I think that you should also have a go at making some sprites, as I particularly like watching those, especially if they are animated. So basically, keep up the work, and keep on posting what you are doing. I am hoping to start editing pictures like this once I get a program like this for my Mac. Also, if possible, could anyone recommend some applications for Mac OS X which are good in editing pictures. I am a complete beginner, and I don't mind the cost.

This is a solid composition. The placement is excellent and the arbitrary cropping is also very strong (you don't let it get to the horizon line of the road). I like the sharpness of the image as well. The text is the only thing that bothers me. If you MUST have the text in there (which I don't think you do), I would try putting it above the first road line, and angle it in a manner than would match the line. But doing that might also take away from the image. I think the reason I like this one so much is because it looks like something I would do.

The industry standards are Adobe Creative Suite 2, which means: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. If you are serious with this, definately go with the creative suite instead of each product seperate.

Thanks for the feed back. The problem is, when I tried to put the text above the line in the road, it took the eyes to the text, and being it was in the center, it just didn't flow. Plus, I couldn't get the text color to match all that well with the line, which, being the text looked like a different texture, and color, it didn't fit there well. I will agree though, I don't think the text was needed.

I appreciate all feedback, no matter if you have experience or not.

I must agree, there isn't really anything special about the image. The longest part about it was the cropping. The angle the picture was taken made it very hard to get it to fit right and look well. Mainly because my brother isn't much of a photographer. Silly

Also, as Drath said, Adobe Creative Suite 2 is the standard. However, if you want, you can just go for Photoshop alone and it should do you good.
