With all the other more serious crimes and things happening in the world today, you would think that the police officer would find another real criminal to crack down on instead of behaving in that fashion. That is just awful.

Whole thing is blown out of proportion. Cops have bad days, there are some insecure ones, there are some that get a kick out of power, but I've seen incidents where kids show utter disrespect, talk back and so forth. The subsequent actions by the cop were not "for skateboarding", it was for the kid's follow up behaviour. In a world where punishments are often meaningless and ineffective, sometimes kids need a wake up call. And enough with the politically correct and "moral" commentary.
