Has anyone ever seen this show on the Discovery channel? I think that its a brand new show. I don't know since I don't actually receive cable tv out here int he middle of no where, but i can watch them online.

Anyways I was just at Discovery.com and picked an episode of Smash Labs to watch since Dirty Jobs, and Mythbuster episodes aren't online right now, and the title sounded pretty cool. I thought it was going to be a show about smashing stuff, or even blowing it up. After all the thumbnail picture is of a car in front of a train on the tracks. So i thought it'd be interesting.

I watched the one labeled "cop car" or something like that.

It turned out to be a really lame show trying to copy the feel of mythbusters. Only problem with them doing that is that its not an original or even native feeling the show gives off.

The people don't seem to have much personality and you can tell that they are reading native scripts and trying to sound as intelligent as they can while they do that.

The episode i watched didn't even have anything to do with smashing or breaking anything. It was more like a Mythbusters reject show idea in which they tried to see if they could kill a working/moving car engine with a fire extinguisher. Yup, the whole episode was about that, and never once got interesting.

Discovery Channel was starting to become my favorite all time channel, which all the great shows such as Mythbusters, dirty jobs, how its made, etc. But now they seem to try to duplicate shows with the same feel and everything, and it just doesn't work out.

Has anyone seen this show? Do you think it'll last?
I know you can check it out if you like in the USA. Might also work elsewhere, i don't know. http://video.discovery.com/

What do you think of it?
