Anybody heard of Soldier Front? You can play it for free here.

Perhaps not many, since most of the versions released were localised, and the only one available worldwide was released one year ago, through ijji.

I got to know this game through my friend. My friend got to know it when he was browsing the ijji website. My friend and I got to know ijji through GunZ, since they released a new worldwide version there with more features, and everyone flocked there from the other older version (which is also officially known as International GunZ, with the ijji one being North American GunZ).

You can really consider this the "compact" version of Counter-Strike, because almost everything inside is similar to it, such as the "Fire in the hole" radio message that plays when you throw a hand grenade, radio messages like "Affirmative", and even different missions like destroying certain objects through a fixed time-bomb, with one team setting the bomb and the other defusing it.

There's not much graphics to boast about, and according to the website, the game is designed for lower specifications, but in general it is really fun, even without all the graphics that you may get in Counter-Strike.

There are also a range of weapons to select with, and this is one of the things that are different from Counter-Strike. The weapons you own are permanent (you bring it into every game you go), and they are different from the ones in Counter-Strike.

I suggest you set up a few accounts, try it out before creating your "main account", because once you login the first time, it will prompt you to buy a primary, secondary and throwing weapon, which are compulsory before you can play.

What's more, it's free! Very Happy
