This is a sprite i've been working on for my Darkness Within game. Could anyone give me tips for the hair as it doesn't look right

Looking good. I always liked pixel art. Here are my thoughts you can improve that sprite:

1. The hair looks like it's been split in two. Try to put some hair in front of her face. Try to draw something similar to this: http://www.short-hair-style.co.....les_02.jpg

2. the shape of the body looks too deformed. Try to make the hands smaller and that belly more slim.

Nothing more I can say. You're quite a good spriter. Good luck with your game!

Haha... fantastic yet amusing at the same time. The hair looks flat, but I am not a very good artist and have very little experience with sprites so I don't know how you could make it look more 3D. Perhaps if the hair was drawn a little bigger than the actual head then it would look more 3D.

You know what i find quite funny?
Thats my first ever spite.

Im not overally fond on it, but then again im not overally fond on much i do, even though other people love them.

The hardest part of this was the hair. The hair is suppost to look like its tcked behind her ears and fall down here back. I'll see if i can get a zoomed version of her uploaded

EDIT: Zoomed version added to first post. I just realised im missing shading for the forehead, shadow from the hair.
Have to do that when i get in from driving lesson

That looks amazzing. I wish i could do that.

Thats definatly amazing if its really your first. Lookslike you've done it before thats all.

The only thing i can comment on is the shoes for the first one on the second row. They look odd, almost as if the person is stading on the outsides of their foot

The pixel shading is relaly excellent. I agree with the proportions on the figure, they are kind of off, but if you keep using this style, it begins to create a sense of stylization in the figures, so it might be a good thing too. I don't think there's too much problem with the hair at all. It's a little plain, but it still looks good.

all the sprites will be that way, thats just a random one i did to test it out. i have about 25 to make in that style.

Im being told on another site that im pillow shading (Pillow shading is shading from the outline dark to light in the center.) but they dont really tell me how to do t correctly.
Although i seem to like it like this.

This is what it looks like ingame, although im going to change the map graphics to

The second one is better excepting the shoes. I liked the way they were before. (those from v1) Maybe the pants should be a little more shaded.

I prefer v1's hair as well as the shoes. I'm told v2 looks like she's pregnant though.

Currently i prefer v1 except for the top half of the shirt

Laughing
The second version looks like she's been holding a baby in her belly.

hey that is cool, i once created a sprite and that failed me miserably. i gave up on the graphically part of programming from then on... only focus on some css to make it look decent. i want to play your game, give me a link. i always like old school rpgs. looking good!
