Hello everyone,

This is where I usually give everyone the updates on what has happened over the last few months and I line out any coming changes in policy or any changes to services. I thought it might be fun to use this State of the L2P to look at Lifelesspeople.com as a whole, its position, strategy, and place in the industry moving forward so I sat down with myself to ask myself those very questions. Smile

Trel Asking: What would you say has changed over the last 6 years in terms of focus, audience, or just scope of the project?

Trel Answering: Well 6 years ago the project started out with some idealistic goals that were never realistic in any way as many projects do. Some lofty goals of changing the world, free information, and all sorts of other ideas had to be scaled down as the project moved forward.

I would say the project's primary focus hasn't changed too much and the audience has just expanded to include the four corners of the globe.

Trel Asking: You mentioned free information. Would you elaborate on that?

Trel Answering: When the project started many free webhosting websites placed advertisements in every frame and had popups or other horrible advertisements that prevented good content from reaching the right eyes. The project originally started as a way to put a stop to that. At least in some small way the project did just that.

Trel Asking: Okay fair enough. Over the last 6 years I'm sure you've seen many providers come and go. Even though L2P is still here what would you say is L2P's greatest victory and greatest loss during that time?

Trel Answering: That is a hard question but, I'll take a shot at it. I would say the greatest loss would be members of the community and staff that have moved on. We owe them a great debt and need to honor each of them for their work that allows us to be as great as we are today.

The greatest victory would be having survived as long as we have without losing our core values or focus. That is hard to do and takes quite a bit of work but, it is a well won victory.

Trel Asking: Where do you see L2P going looking forward? Do you see yourself launching a paid webhosting service, selling L2P, or is there anything you would care to announce?

Trel Answering: I see L2P expanding into many new areas and exploring the limits of this business model. At this time a paid webhosting service is not even on the back burner and selling L2P is out of the question. I have nothing to announce at this time.

Trel Asking: That answer is fairly vague. Elaborate on expanding and exploring the limits. Where do you see it all going?

Trel Answering: At the moment L2P is looking at all the competition and is taking note of what they are doing. We watch both the paid and free webhosting industries closely to ensure a balanced picture. With our experience we can look back at the mistakes of others and see what is coming but, at the same time it is important to keep an open mind to new ideas.

Trel Asking: What can we all expect in the short term in features or upgrades?

Trel Answering: There are some exciting things coming that will set L2P apart more than before. I can't mention any specifics as it would ruin the surprise. Smile

Trel Asking: It has been a great interview. Thank you for your time. Is there anything else you wanted to add before we go?

Trel Answering: Nothing more but, thank you too. Wink

I hope you enjoyed this. I will be putting up a thread soon so you can contribute to a "Trel interviewed by the community" post soon.
