I thought I read somewhere in an FAQ that if you get subdomain hosting, you can create an unlimited number of [inserttexthere].subdomain.l2p.net. I'm not sure if my brain's just all muddled up, or if it's actually true.

All I know is that if you get domain hosting you get a certain number of subdomains, depending on which plan you get. And if you do get domain hosting, is it possible to get sub.subdomain.yourdomain.com?

Man I'm pathetic, done a couple dozen posts here now and I'm still confused about the basics... forgive me Embarassed

Nope, as far as I'm aware, you can't create subdomains of subdomains, you can't create subdomains of subdomains of domains either. Only plain old subdomains of domains.

When you sign up for subdomain hosting here at l2p you choose a subdomain:

youname.l2p.net

Then in your cPanel you can CHOOSE to create a subdomain for your account like this:

forum.yourname.l2p.net

And no its not unlimited ammount of subdomains, depending on what plan you choose you are given so many subdomains. I could be wrong but unless Trel disabled this cPanel feature your able to!

The same applies for domain hosting you can have forum.domain.com and the number of subdomains depends on your plan! Gotta love cPanel Wink

However I don't believe you can have sub.forum.domain.com, thats not possible. The reason you can have forum.yourname.l2p is because when your account is created for cPanel your domain is entered in as yourname.l2p.net So you are able to create a subdomain of that domain. But you can't have sub subdomain. Does that make sense?

Hope this helps, good luck,

-Josh

Subdomains are not allowed on subdomain accounts.

You cannot have sub.you.l2p.net. Only you.l2p.net.

That is for safety reasons and DNS sanity.

It is possible, but it can make keeping your files organized tricky unless you keep the sub-subdomain folder within the folder of the original subdomain.

ie: my.forums.domain.com
maps to: /PATH/domain/forums/my/
