A few days ago the Bioshock demo came out on the Xbox LIve marketplace, along with a new trailer that was featured on TV. Has anyone else tried this demo yet? It was incredible, I am really loving the game play, after playing it I am now considering buying this game. The demo had some pretty creepy parts though, like you come upon a lady singing a lullaby to her pistol in the a stroller. The thing that I find the best in the game though is how you can react to the enviroment, for example, if you see someone in water you can shock the water with electricity and it will just electrocute everyone in it.

Apparently the PC demo is coming out soon. I can't wait.

I'd love to try out the PC demo too, since I don't haven an Xbox Smile All I can do is hope that the game will run on my laptop, otherwise I'll have to add the game to my "play-when-I-get-new-pc"-list Smile

This game was all over Digg yesterday. Reports of 5/5 and 10/10 ratings across the boards. The funny thing is, I haven't even heard anything about this game before yesterday.

Man, drath, where have you been? This game has been receiving a lot of hype for months now. It looks really good, there was a gameplay clip I saw where the guy redoes the same level 3 times, and each time is completely different and it looks super fun. I'm getting it for the PC when it comes out.

Here is a pretty neat video to watch about it

I don't think that it has been getting that much hype until the last week or two, because lately, as drath said, there have been lots of reviews giving it perfect and also Toys R Us made a mistake and thought it came out the same day as Madden 08 so some Toys R Us in the United States were selling it, which got quite a bit of attention to the game.

Oh yes! BioShock has been receiving so much praise this past week since the demo came out and reviews have started to appear.

I've downloaded the demo and played through it twice. The first time I played was the most notable as I played in a dark room with some high quality speakers and the game was amazing.

As I've heard from my friends who've played the game, the same happened to me: I didn't even realize I was in control of the character due to amazing visuals of the game. I was just floating in the water until a tip appeared saying this is how you move. Ha!

Anyway, it was a nice frightening experience entering Rapture. Awesome!

And then the gameplay itself is so well tuned! I would not want to play BioShock with a keyboard at all after experiencing the game with the 360 controller. It just works so perfectly! Who'd want to have to take their eyes off of the screen to find which hotkeys you need to press!

I'm definitely purchasing this game Tuesday. If I can nab me a Limited Edition then by George I'll do it! The little Big Daddy is awesome and it'll be a chilling experience to hear the soundtrack on its own.

I might check this game out. Steam keeps annoying me and popping up askin me to buy it and preload it unto me system ha, I need to turn the news alerts off on it.

Game seems kinda cool though.

Dam, I went over to an Ebgames today and they were sold out... I wasn't expecting the game to be that popular, my friends that played it weren't really interested in it since they said they didn't understand it. I was really looking forward to playing this game too.

My copy shipped out today from GameFly. Why? I've come to realize that they offer great deals for buying games. I just rent then keep it. But yeah so I'll be receiving BioShock probably on Friday.

Oh and yes, my shipping times have been 3 days most of the time.

Oh yeah and did you read about the Big Daddies that came with the limited edition arriving broken? Luckily they'll get those fixed up with free shipping too!

Oh and let's not forget the whole Jack Thompson debacle over the BioShock commercial that aired last Friday during WWE Smackdown. Ha! He points his finger at Take-Two/Rockstar when the name on the package is 2K games. Though I do realize Take-Two owns 2K, Rockstar isn't involved at all with BioShock and JT is clearly mentioning them to get some attention.

Oh and let's not forget the reason behind his finger pointing. The mature rated game had a commercial during a TV-14 rated television show. Nevermind the fact that WWE should be rated M as well due to the racial stereotyping, scantily clad women, and plots that are just as bad as a porn flick's (I base this on stereotype; I don't watch such content as I find it animal like).

Woo! BioShock! It does have a few flaws but not enough to really harm the game.

PC demo is available!

Yeah you can get it over steam but I learned long ago that downloading anything from steam is like watching paint dry.

Well I bought this game yesterday and it was pretty funny... I beat it pretty quick (only took a day and a bit) but I only played it on medium, so I am going to try hard. It is really addictive when you first get into it, its hard to stop playing, which is probably why I beat it so quick.

Yep! I definitely tried out the demo on the Xbox 360, and I think it's great! At first I wasn't really expecting to be blown away because I'm not a fan of creepy shooters. I like my run and guns... But this game seems to have a good blend of sneaking and gunning, so it seems fine with me. It is definitely scary at some points though, but that's part of the game's atmosphere. Very abandoned and cryptic.

They did a very good job with the presentation of the game, even throughout the cinematics, since they leave you in your first person perspective, making you feel like you are really in Rapture. (similar to Half Life 1/2).

But I have to agree with WhiteRabbit1313... Where have you guys been? Never heard of this game before the reviews? My god, it's been all over the gaming websites for months. Very highly anticipated game... I think the only way you'd not know about the game is if you try to avoid Xbox 360 game news, because they seemed to have focussed on the 360 version throughout the time leading up to the release.

Regardless, now you know about it, and you should at the least give it a run through. I've played the demo 3 times now, and each time theres still different ways of accomplishing the same thing. I went to the store to see if they had any but they were sold out, so more demo play for me I guess...
