Have you seen this film with sean connery and catherine zeta-jones?
What do you think of it if you did? Here is my opinion and something about the film if you haven't seen it.
A star-driven, globe-trotting exercise in finely crafted absurdity, this glossy thriller is a throwback to the glory days of caper movies like TOPKAPI and ARABESQUE, with a healthy dollop of THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR. A Rembrandt is stolen from a high-rise Manhattan office building, a velvet Elvis left in its place: Ace insurance investigator Virginia "Gin" Baker (Catherine Zeta-Jones) attributes the daring heist to legendary thief Robert "Mac" MacDougal (Sean Connery), and persuades her boss (Will Patton) to let her set a trap. The beguiling Gin flies to England and persuades Mac to join her in the theft of a priceless Chinese mask, hinting that if they work well together, she has an even bigger score in mind. But it soon becomes clear that nothing is as it seems: Is Gin a cop or a thief, or both? And does she have the supremely suave Mac fooled, or is he playing his own little game? Make no mistake, the story is nicely spun and held together with the kind of high-tech gadgets that enthrall boys of all ages. But the movie's appeal lies in its performances: Connery's ultracool Mac is Bond gone terribly wrong, while Gin is the sleekly modern descendent of every duplicitous beauty who ever glided through a slippery '60s heist thriller clad in head-to-toe Chanel. And yes, Connery's old enough to be Zeta-Jones' grandpa, but the age difference is nicely worked into Mac and Gin's "will they or won't they" flirtation. Ving Rhames and Maury Chaykin fill the obligatory colorful supporting roles, and the film's second half unfolds against the exotic backdrop of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on New Year's Eve 1999. In short, it's the kind of film Hollywood doesn't make any more, and a pleasant retro diversion. _________________ [img:ee17b6484e]http://bux.to/images/banner/banner.png[/img:ee17b6484e]
