In recent days, we've run into a great number of people (mostly newer members) who've complained about their inability to be heard in some of the more fleshed out conversations on the board.

In order to make the board more friendly for newer members, we here at the L2P Phony Sciences and Thinkings Department have brainstormed day and night to come up with a more friendly approach to the board.

After several trials and test runs, we have come up with a method to make everyone feel more at home. An introduction thread!

---

Here's what you do:

New (and old) members feel free to introduce yourself in this thread. Tell us how you got your username, where you're from, why you're here, and something special about yourself.

It's that simple!

The hope is that by introducing each other, people won't get shut out. There has been a common theme of shutting other people out (and sadly, elitism), and we're here to stamp it out! Be friendly!

---

However, not all trials ended in success. In the process of trying to domesticate a horde of forum goers to fall in line with one of our ideas, we lost LP-Ithilion.

I'll start.

My name is James, but my handle here is "LP-Harvey." LP, because I am one of the forum moderators here. Harvey, because that is a nickname I acquired while I was in high school. It's a play off of my last name, and my energetic nature after I "get some rest." I'm also too lazy to come up with a more original name. Smile

I'm originally from Virginia (US), but reside in a part of Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C.

I'm here for the hosting. Very Happy That, and the community.

As for something special about myself... if you ever need documentation done for a program you want to push for a release, don't be afraid to ask me for some pointers. It's my profession.

Well Hello eBuddies!

My name is Josh (aka the grinch, seyeko, mjhq, scar Silly )
There is absolutely no reason why I have the nickname Scar now, but it's kinda cool I suppose. For some odd reason I kinda feel like Batman now, its weird.

I'm 23 years old and live in Wichita, Kansas. I have a pet cat, and a nice shiny blue hat (i didn't mean for that to rhyme).

I seem to suffer something similar to bi-polarism, especially here on the forum, so some days I could be nice and the other days I'm a grinch, so its cool. At least i get to go on alot of adventures or something. Even though I might seen Grinchy sometimes, i still love helping others :d

I'm here for the amazing LifelessPeople web hosting. It's better then almost any paid host that i've ever had, and I never have a problem with it.

I'm also here for the community. Very Happy

Edit: There is also no reason why my current avatar is of a maggot wearing a Mickey Mouse hat.

Bit of an old member, but sure, why not.

The name Xtreme was actually dug up from a random website project I worked on with a friend years and years ago. It happened to pop up during the time I was looking at L2P, and so here it is.

I'm 19 from the southern United States attending Louisiana State University for Music Education and Pre-Medicine - a double-major of sorts.

I don't do much webdesign or digital art anymore, but I used to be fairly heavy into different areas of it, including 3D design and such. These days any such work I do is practical in nature and done with Apple software and hardware. Sorry, had to make that plug Wink Rolling Eyes.

Really I have no idea why I'm still hanging around L2P as far as web hosting. The community has a great foundation and many common interests among users, though, so I suppose that sort of thing is keeping me hanging around.

My screen name is Pie32. The story behind the name is kinda strange. I was playing Starcraft online for the first time (well, not really, I was going to play it online the next day) so I came up with this really kick *** screen name! The next day when I was going to play, I completely forgot what that awesome screen name I came up with. As best as I could recall it ended in '32', and I had a feeling that the name I came up with was 'Hat32', but that didn't seem as cool as what I had come up with the previous day, so I typed in 'Pie32'.

I've been using the hosting for about two years. Currently my website houses all of the games that I program, I'm just too lazy to make anything decent really. I do have a half-finished shoot 'em up game that's pretty fun, but for some reason I haven't uploaded the latest build to my website nor have I created a page for it since I re-designed (or should I say super-simplified?) the website. I don't think my page gets that many hits, probably the most hits come from a cursor upload service I created for a website a used to frequent.

Oh, and if you're wondering what my avatar is, it's Jessica Alba from Sin City when she was dancing in the strip club. Wink

I am not sure how I managed to miss this thread... Perhaps I really do go around with my eyes closed!

What can I tell you about me? I have been here for quite a while, as you can see.

I live in Lincoln, which is close to The East Coast in England. I am originally from Lewisham in South East London. Although the area I was born in was SE4, I use SE13 as my screen name, because it is the area of London I grew up in. (SE13 being the first part of the postcode for the area)

My name is Chris, I am 39 years old, married with four children, and here as part of a hosting group. I also enjoy the community aspect of the site.

My avatar is the crest of my beloved Arsenal Football Club, who play in London in The English Premier League.

Hi, (by the way, I'm hopeless at introductions). My username is random, just arranged 3 letters from my name around to get it, shows how creative I am, doesn't it!

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I play soccer and tennis competitively and try and get involved in outdoor activities but still end up spending a lot of time playing games with the time to post here and run a website. I can't be bothered getting a "real job" as everyone calls it working at a supermarket or something because freelance web dev/design pays too well and setting my own hours... you get the idea. As a result, I have far too much free time.

I originally came here for the hosting and still don't mind posting for the great service because it is very reliable and the community is great. Would like it to be a bit more active though, at the moment, I'm struggling to reach a mere 200 points!

My avatar is the crest of Liverpool and spits on SE13's one! Why I choose that one over my home football club in the A-League? Not sure, probably because I followed Liverpool for many years and the A-League is still relatively new (this season will be the 3rd year or "version"). Although, that could easily be made up by Melbourne Victory's 6-1 thrashing of Adelaide in last season's final I do not have a signature, yet another sign of my creativity!

Hi, I'm Logan. That's my name and my username. I enjoy acting, singing, and webdesign. Those are my passions.

I live in Stafford, Virginia and go to high school. I love my girlfriend Alanna because she understands an ID-ten-T error. I act in the Drama program at my school, I'm in the highest chorus class in my school, and I play pranks on everyone. It's a lot of fun.

I'm kind of an old guy and don't really have hosting around here. I came here a few years ago as a newb, and left a not-newb. This place grew me in so many ways.

My avatar is me in a hat and candy cigarette that I never actually gave back to the drama closet at my school.

My name is Jacky. My name and username.

I came here originally in January 2005 to find hosting. I was looking for hosting everywhere to host a phpBB forum. Kind of weird, I don't know why.

In February 2005 I got my hosting from LifelessPeople. And this hosting, with suspensions (but never termination), lasted till now.

I was suspended in March 2005 for inactivity. And for some great terms for members that have already signed up for hosting, I started to get my PBPP up. I can't remember what the "terms" was, but it was definitely for those who have signed up then.

In April 2005, I was hyperactive. I was posting everywhere, and my PBPP kept increasing. At that time, I found that this forum is not just about hosting. I grew to like it, and started becoming active.

I started a website, but it was a major flop.

At periods of 2005, I get suspended times and times. Most of time I was addicted to computer games.

In 2006, school just disallowed me to get on LifelessPeople. My account was suspended, but still not terminated, because I found ways to get back to positive PBPP. Wink

In June 2007, when my holidays started, I began to be active again.

And in July 2007, I finally made good use of my hosting. I started a website for an IRC channel I owned (quite popular), and it was a success.

Yeah... I'm Lyth. 18, and currently drifting in the area between high school and college. I'm bound for New Mexico Tech next month (roxor school) to double major in computer science and electrical engineering.

When I'm on the computer, I either fire up some PC games, surf the 'net, or work on a website. As you can see through my previous work, I am a standards and aesthetics guy. Off the computer, I spend most of my time either socializing outside, or playing on the piano. I'm relatively new to the piano, so it's really exciting for me -- around 3 to 4 hours a day on it... so I'm climbing up really extremely fast on the learning curve.

I came here in 2004 to look for hosting, and since then L2P has served me well... couldn't be any happier. Circumstances turned up and I had to abandon hosting in 2006, but I still linger here, because the community is great. And a lot of the newbies I know still linger here, and if the need for hosting here ever comes up again, I'll be back here. Smile

Hello! I'm Marina, 26, currently working as web developer and living in Israel.

I like pixel-art (that is also the theme of my website, which can be found in my signature) and all manner of cute things. Also reading, a lot. I spent nearly all my time at the computer, either at work or at home and even on the bus (got a pocketPC).

My username, marinaroz, is not quite the epitome of originality, being my first name and the beginning of my last name. I don't like my real last name as it's long and no one can properly pronounce it in any language. So I use the first three letters instead.

I've been here on L2P for a really long time, since 2004, I think. Lately though, having a full time job and a part time job, I just don't have the time to post all that much. Been tethering on the edge of suspension for months now. Actually, my goal for today is to earn 200PBPP and not get kicked off.

I found L2P after trying several other free hosting offers and none were as stable, reliable and feature rich as L2P. So even though my site wasn't updated in a while, I still want to keep the hosting. Go L2P!

Hello Boobikins. My name is Branden, but please, call me M0ose. I support creativity and freedom. A man is no man at all if he can not be true to himself, if no one more. I am suposedly a unique, 'effed up, young adult, with the mind of a 30 year old. I run Wings, Nachos & Anthrax, and I think of myself the scum on the bottom of a barrel. If you really care enough to learn more about me, hit me up in private, or just read my posts and such. I'm a cool cat once you get to know me.

My name is Stephen, I'm thirty-five and I live in a town called Stockton-on-Tees.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockton-on-Tees

My town is famous for being at one end of the first passenger railway system in the world:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.....on_Railway

Stockton is rumoured to have one of the widest high streets in Europe.

As you'll be able to see from my sig, I used to be Sideshow Bob - this was from the episode of The Simpsons where Bob frames Krusty for armed robbery. He took off his clown shoes and that reminded me that my own feet looked like that, and a nickname was born. I decided to change to StephenG to copy my username on http://www.socceram.net/forums/index.php (which is also the reason I am here - to help fund that site for Graeme).

My (not very) interesting fact is that although I am physically able to play Football, I cannot actually sign to play for a team, due to the fact that I played for a team that folded in 1994, and I have an outstanding fine that would need to be paid off first. I don't know if the amount has risen with interest or not (I can't remember how much the fine is Embarassed), so I think I might need a National Lottery win to cover all the bases. Also there are the lesser facts that I'm too old, my body is knackered and I'm rubbish!
