Has anyone here been paying attention to the new TV Series on Fox that i believe takes on from where the movies left off, i'm not sure I honestly do not remember much of the last Terminator movie.

I really only remember Terminator 2, and this one really makes me think of that one because it has the teenage dude "John" and his paranoid mom or whatever, and they are running from the Terminators from the future and everything. terminator 2 was my favorite terminator movie, so that makes me like this even more.

So far i have only watched the pilot, which was the first episode, so maybe the graphics and everything weren't that great for it being a pilot and all, but its pretty cool and keeps me in suspense. I'm going to watch the second episode soon. Makeup kinda sucks also
but then again graphics in my opinion always look worse on the pc than they do on tv. But i missed when these episodes aired so i have to watch it on here.

I think the movies are better. The tv series have that lame tv feel to them, but then again it could just be the pilot episode, i don't know.

oh yeah, there is one thing so far that i havent liked. They seemed to have sent a teenage female terminator to protect john, which is a lame idea, and she doesn't seem too intelligent (ditsy girl) and the whole idea just doesn't make sense really. I can already see that he is going to fall inlove with her in future episodes, but she is a machine and will be destroyed and blah blah tv soap drama stuff. That'd be the only thing so far that i find super negative, but isn't much.

You can watch them online, and reply on what you think

Very Happy

I haven't watched it yet, but I've got the first two episodes on my computer. The show doesn't really interest me, but I may be required to watch the series for a class I'm taking (accidently signed up for a sci-fi english course, didn't read the description, kinda too late to change classes now).

So yeah, I'm not expecting much from the show...

I did watch the second of the two part pilot. It was pretty good. The potential is there if it gets the audience. Sorta like how Heroes has developed into a fine show.

I ended up watching the second episode or whatever after i submitted this topic, and i must say that I'm really into it. It's a pretty good show and the CGI and everything gets alot better.

I think the show will do just fine. i hope so because this show has the potential to make the entire Terminator Trilogy look horrible.

The series takes place after Terminator 2 and before Terminator 3. I haven't watched the episodes yet, but it didn't look that bad to me (I watched fast forwarded through the pre-air pilot because I didn't have the time to watch the complete episode).

The female Terminator sent to protect him is played by Summer Glau, maybe you remember her from Firefly? Anyway, she's a good sci-fi actress and I don't think she'll be destroyed any time soon as she is the best known actress on the show.

I just watched the first episode, and I thought it was really bad. There are quite a few problems I found with the show.

1. A lot of elements of the plot are easily predictable. I knew the first part was a dream when Sarah freed herself from the cop car and magically disabled her and John's handcuffs. Also, I knew that the girl (from any previews I've seen, I was going into the show not knowing what any characters looked like) was a Terminator when she started talking to John at school. Fifteen year olds don't talk to new kids at school right away like that.

2. The kids did not look 15 at all. In the bed room scene, would it have been so hard to say a more reasonable age like 17 or 18? Neither John nor Girl Terminator look 15.

3. Girl Terminator is a bad actress. Some scenes she acts like a robot whereas in others she acts human. Pick one and stick with it. This is also the director's fault.

4. Terminators are all so inept. Has anyone ever noticed that? They suck at their job. If I was Terminator sent to kill John, I would be all: "I'm here to protect John, oh wait, no I'm not, because I shot him in the face."

There were some discontinuity issues in the grand scheme of things. For example, the mother was supposed to die a few years from when they left the past? From what I gathered from the third movie you can't change the future, so if the future knew Sarah to be dead in the 90's or whatever, then she can't possibly be alive in 2007 (when the second episode takes place)... unless they magically whip another time machine out of their *** and go back to the past and then Sarah is killed.

Bleh, time travel is confusing.

Yeah it seems like they totally left out everything that happen in Terminator III, but in ways its pretty good because III wasn't that very good.

I just bought II and III the other day. I'm kinda happy that this one continued from II.

they will probably some way work III in though because they can't possibly just ignore it all. I dunno.

The series is supposed to take place between II and III. They also answer that issue about changing the future. They thought they had fixed it completely in II, but learn at the begining of the series they didn't. However, as the story says, they did *change it.* So what they are trying to do is change it further to stop skynet from happening. I am suspecting another situation like happened with the Highlander movies after the Highlander series was out for a while. They will twist the movie to go with the series rather than keep it with the original plot line. Heck the comic series for the terminator ended with Sarah having a girl and that in turn made skynet never happen. Or at least stopped them coming back after her. It was called Terminator End Game.
