Well I have to say that this is a great forum! I love the layout and the general design. But the one thing this forum lacks is color. Everything is grey on the forum and is really quite dull. And it is really starting to bug me.... There really needs to be 2-3 key colors on the forum. I did read this thread. It says stuff like "we do not have time to maintain or make a second theme." All that I'm asking is if some of the image files could be filtered and have some color added. Maybe some blue. There is no need to make a whole new theme just a few slight mods on this one. And replacing some of the image files and stuff... The layout would remain 100% the same, the size of the different bars, icons, test etc, remains 100% the same size and at the same position. I think it will make the forum have a more friendly look, and look less boring. It should also encourage more people to join the forums if it looks pleasing to the eye.

What about the currency icons in everyone's mini profile? And the yellow smilies
I understand what you mean though, and seen though there has not been much modification to the forum since I joined, I'm sure running one more theme wouldn't hurt. If not, how about just a different stylesheet, which uses this theme but just replaces colour codes for gray areas to something nice such as blue, as you mentioned. |

I don't have the time to dig it up at the moment, but Trel has made several inquiries about re-designing several aspects of the site, but no one has bitten on it. |

Yeah... I believe that the gist was that if people were willing to redesign the site, Trel would be willing to consider changing it.
As for the forum themes, I vividly remember that it is a wait-until-phpBB3 project. |

I remember an opportunity to change the theme of the site but only by using a stylesheet. That makes it somewhat difficult to make a new theme while still having to use the same images.
But this is phpBB. If I could nab the template being used I'd definitely give it a go.
Afterall, I did try using an alternate stylesheet but the best you can do with that is changing colors. But it's not possible to really change the look of the site without being able to code a whole new template, and of course maintaining the L2P *feel*. _________________ [img:bd4240ba2d]http://gethalo3gear.com/signature/images/halo_signature_1.jpg[/img:bd4240ba2d] |

Well, it should be possible to make enough changes with only the images and the stylesheet. You can't modify the HTML structure though, but the colourscheme and overall looks can be changed. _________________ Captain Jell-O Buster from the Future

First off, that will never happen.

The only way what you're proposing would happen is if Trel adds an alternate theme.
The current colorset is pretty much the identity of the forum and community.
What you're asking is akin to telling Canada, "Your flag is bland. Let's make it yellow and replace that leaf with a fig newton." |

Well I have to say then the "identity" of the forum is quite ugly. Look at the previous responses... People do not really like the forum colors and want them changed. So if the majority of the forum users want it to be changed why can't it?
And I am not talking at all about adding an alternate theme. I'm just talking about moding the current one by only changing the colors.
Should we make a poll on the topic? _________________ [img:a4f912901a]http://www.asusreviews.com/forum/images/logo.gif[/img:a4f912901a]

| Not worth worrying about, just wait for phpBB3 like we have been for over 2 years... |

Get some type of plugin for firefox that'll let you customize the css on websites. then you can change it to be which ever way you want :d
I think its boring, but it must be the feel Trel is aiming for _________________ http://www.damnidunno.com | http://www.mjhq.net | http://www.rebx.net |

Well, if you just want more colors for yourself, there is a Firefox extension to replace html and css, I'm only not sure what it was called. _________________ Spock's blog

| Someone should do that... make a colour version with new images in combination with a CSS file to use as a user style sheet. I think some browsers have native support or at least an extension to do this. I might if I have time. |

Greasemonkey could do that.
If you have the image files and the alternate stylesheet, you can have a Greasemonkey script do a search-replace kind of process on the page to replace the images and stylesheet URLs. _________________ Captain Jell-O Buster from the Future
