|
|
I'm thinking about making a Linux tutorials site but I need some helping thinking of a domain. I am trying to think of a domain name that is a .com domain name and preferably without hyphens.
I will give 200 VSP to the person who thinks of one that I like and register. _________________ Tutorial Management Script - Version 1.4 Released

tuxhelps.com
tuxtuts.com
tux2use.com
usetux.com
usefullinux.com
(I love that penguin )
Most of the ones above are available with Linux substituted for tux. (Linuxhelps.com for example). And sweet deal on building a Linux tutorial site.
Something that would be really useful is a list of configuration files for popular linux apps, such as apache, proftpd, moblock, etc. cause I can never remember their locations (please don't tell me they are all in the same directory )
The same thing would go for the launch files for programs. An example is clicking "download" in firefox, and deciding that you don't want to use the default program. Where do I find the file to load "x program" (not the window system, just a dummy variable for any program). Hope that made sense... _________________ Rashy! |

Webmin, unified configuration GUI for many services.
Debian/Ubuntu package available at http://www.webmin.com/download.html
Should install easily and you should be able to access http://localhost:10000 in a browser right away.

Flashgot is what you want if I correctly understood what you wanted.

In nautilus or your file manager, right click a file of the type and choose "open with other application", the app you choose will be the default for that file type. There is probably a better way but I rarely need to do it as the program chosen is almost always the correct one. |

Well I like some of the domains that Rashy posted, I never thought about using 'tux'. Unless someone posts something better I'll go with one of those. _________________ Tutorial Management Script - Version 1.4 Released

I don't know if it's late but I'll suggest something:
GnuLinuxTutorials.com
GNU/Linux is the "correct" name of the Operating System _________________ http://martin.com.uy
