Does anyone actually watch the TV Guide Channel? I'm not talking about watching to find out what is on, because apprently the TV Guide Channel actually has television shows airing (Flavor Flave even has his own show on there). I'm not sure if this is a new thing; I've never noticed it before.
So, anyone watch the TV with half the screen cut off to display what good shows they could have been watching? _________________

They've done that for a bit I believe. It's basically the reality garbage from VH1 I believe: Surreal Life, Strange Love, Celebrity Fit Club and so on.
The channel also has a few exclusive shows, where rumors and recent celebrity news are discussed. Some of those aren't too bad, and are somewhat informative.
Personally I would prefer just a scrolling screen of what's on televison. However, most satellite and cable systems have their own guides (most of which are more accurate than TV Guide channel), so they should just get rid of this channel. _________________ http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

| I can't say that I sit down and watch it, but I have seen lately that they have have more options available to keep you entertained while you are trying to see what it on television. It is kind of interesting with some of the things that come on, but unless it is something that catches my eye in the moment, I probably won't sit around and watch it. I would probably just go and find what I was looking for before moving on and watching something else. It is kind of interesting, though I do not often find myself going to that channel unless I am on a television with basic cable since the digital cable system we have does have it's own television guide that makes things so much easier. |

But doesn't it kinda defeat the purpose of the channel if they have something interesting playing? I agree with Rob1981 that I would rather have the TV Guide channel be full screen and only show what's on each channel. The reason for the TV Guide channel is to be a TV Guide, but if they have something interesting that catches someone's eye, then they'll be distracted from what they're trying to do: find out what's on. It's like if a street light had a television attatched to it. It just distracts you from the purpose of the street light, inconveniencing everyone.
If anything, I think it should just be commercial. Those are easy to ignore, plus they pretty much get their message across just from the audio. In fact, they could go full screen with the guide and just play the audio of commercial. That would pretty much be ideal. _________________
