The "Restricted Hardware Driver Manager" should helped him to get the way out, and X300 is common on many laptop and not a new chips......This may be the problem of the Gnome and other desktop package like compiz - compiz will make the desktop environment less stable.
But the problem my due to the trackerd that is eating too much resources and make Gnome failed to respond - try to stop this process and see is your system perform better. _________________ Sleepless Cat‧The one looking for her path... |

kutar, good point about the Tracker daemon, I remember that being an issue on Ubuntu too, not sure if it was due to its first index waiting to complete or not. I switched to beagle which seemed to handle processing only during idle time in a better manner. _________________
