The title says it all, just google for the location of the file.
This is a reasonable fast (and has a better wait time than most hosts at the moment) download location: http://www.fileshack.com/file......ent+3+Demo

Also did anybody else notice how blurred everything seems?

I definitely noticed. It's as if they did that to get around the fact that they couldn't make the graphics look as good as their early screenshots looked.

Either that, or my graphics card wasn't good enough so it put the blur in on purpose... No matter how high I turned the detail, it was still blurry.

Gameplay wise, it's the same as it has ever been. To me, it hasn't changed a bit. Oh noez, they added different vehicles (aka Strider from Half Life 2) yayhoooo.

I don't find it interesting, so I deleted the demo and now I'm back to playing the Orange Box.. because, you know.... there's originality there that just doesn't seem to be in UT3. Who knows, I could be wrong, but I've just lost interest in UT.

You can remove the blur, you just have to put the resolution higher than 1280x1024 and put the percentage that is 50% normally I think (forgot the setting name) higher. Than it doesn't really look blurred at all. Also a couple of new gameplay elements were added. Especially the hover board becomes fun on certain maps Smile

Well it's good to know that the blur can be removed... If I remember correctly, even the original UT had some of that blur effect too.

But the fact that you have to set the resolution so high and the detail even higher just means that only a fraction of the general gaming public will be able to see UT3 for what it was really meant to be... I guess I'll see how it turns out for the Xbox 360 when it comes around... Timed exclusives suck, but they're at least better than real exclusives.

I guess not all the textures are in the demo (in the sense of, no textures for lower resolution).

Too bad my pc won't be able to run UT3 because I would love to Smile Anyone any comments about the gameplay? Still the same or are there a few changes made? Or huge changes made?

I don't really need comments about the graphics, because I know those are great Smile

Ugh... playing UT3 on PC is just... not right. First of all you have to have a computer capable of running the game with the excellent quality visuals. And then! Blah blah blah I'm just annoyed by PC games now.

Unreal Tournament 3 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 will shine and will sell plenty more copies then it will for PC. $400 (PS3 too now!) and you have a machine capable of running Unreal Tournament 3 in all its graphical glory. Sorry PC fanboys but the consoles are so accessible, becoming cheaper, offer more, and are just a better experience overall. Very Happy

I tend to agree with most of your point... The only PC game I play now is the Orange Box, and I have no intention on trying any new PC game coming around. The consoles are great, and they have great value, but it still comes back down to controls. If the control scheme sucks, the game will suck.

Thankfully the 360 has one of the best controllers I have ever seen on any console system, so that's a plus... But it is still no good for true FPS play. Sure, certain games like Halo do fine with console controls because everyone plays with console controls, but with games like the Orange Box, I almost laugh out loud every time I see footage of someone playing it on a console. It's not the same. Period.

That said, almost every other genre that I play (I dont play RTS) works fine on consoles so it's all good. =)

Playing UT3 on a PC is just not right? UT wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for the PC, UT3 will always be a game for PC in the first place. Not to mention all the mods that will be released for UT3. How many of those will you be able to play on a PS3 or XBox 360?

And experience UT3 in all its graphical glory on an Xbox 360 (or PS3)? You should show me a game that looks better on console then on a PC with all graphical options on maximum. Graphics on PC look better and evolve faster then any console.

So yeah, maybe consoles are accessible and cheaper. But they offer more? What can you do with a PS3 or an Xbox that I can't do with a PC? And why would it offer a better experience? Graphical a top-notch PC will always beat a console, really good console games usually do get ported to PC or are exclusive to one system only. So don't talk about how consoles are so much better then PC, because they're not Wink

It saddens me to know that i won't be able to play any of these new games due to university and my pc.

I cant even run world of warcraft without lagging, world of warcraft is actually using a very old video technology engine to power it's core, i cant even get 30 fps on it.

But staying on topic, i don't think my pc can run this because it can barely run unreal tournament 2004, heh.

I do hope i get a better job though, so i can get a new pc.

Yes the PC version of Unreal Tournament looks better on PC if and only if you have a very expensive computer to handle playing a single game.

As for mods, apparently you missed the announcement by Epic Games that mods will be available for the PS3 version of the game and that they are working on a way to implement the same feature on Xbox 360.

Additionally, keyboard/mouse support is an included and confirmed feature for Unreal Tournament 3 on the PlayStation 3. It will be one of the first games to support K/M.

When you buy the PlayStation 3 for $400 you get a powerful gaming machine (one that replaces supercomputers as the hardware of choice), a Blu-Ray player, built in wi-fi, a media server/streamer, and much more.

For $350 you can get an Xbox 360 with a extensive library of HD content and the most robust and well connected online gaming service spanning EVERY game available for the console. Also, an acting media center extender to work in conjunction with a PC.

For $350-$400 you can buy a PC with years old budget technology that can hardly run the latest OS.

To equal the immediate out of the box experience you get with the consoles you'd have to spend two, three, four times and more, money. And then your hardware would be obsolete soon thereafter.

Unreal Tournament 3 is looking to have the best experience playable on PlayStation 3. A single Blu-Ray disc, mod support, keyboard/mouse, and hopefully integrated Home support. I would suppose that all currently released games will release an update to add in PlayStation Home support.

I'll step in here as well.

Any computer with a high-end graphic card(s) will be able to render all the new shaders/dynamics which Xbox360/Playstation 3 do not natively support due to their age over the newer PC cards like the Geforce 8800 Ultra/ATI X1950+. Who knows, they might even add support for additional shading/technologies when they come up (like Valve has done with Half-Life 2), and even then the graphic will be that much better, and sadly the consoles won't be able to render those either.

Those will be official mods and add-ons. They will not be the thousands of third-party mods that will be available online for PC users; not to mention the ability to modify the game yourself using the UT3 SDK for PC.

For $2500-$3500 you can buy a high-end PC that will last roughly 4 years before coming somewhat outdated in terms of video game playability.

A personal computer also has a really cool feature! The ability to develop, program, create, conceptualize and publish the games you play on your consoles. I'm being somewhat facetious here of course. You are posting on a forum from your PC, not from a Playstation 3 (yes I know you could if you wanted to, I don't care). The point I am trying to make is that a PC isn't exclusively for gaming, that's for consoles. So don't come and here and compare the prices of apples versus lexus automobiles. - Sure an apple is cheaper than a lexus, but all you do is eat an apple, with a lexus you can do a lot more.

UT3 is a lot less demanding on your computer than you might think. From what I have seen the engine seems to take performance over graphics quality.

In your dreams that is, the newest PC graphics cards make the ps3 and xbox360 look bad.

Better experience, don't think so. Shooters are way more fun with a keyboard and a mouse. Playing shooters on a TV (often low resolution) is really no fun compared to playing a game on a pc.

The newest graphic cards also cost as much as the PS3 or Xbox 360.

$2500 for 4 years? That's it?

Really no fun... well how about you tell that to the millions of Halo fans who keep coming back for more and more Halo. Why? Because it's so much more fun than plopping down a $1000+ for a computer to produce a similar experience. The consoles are definitely "more fun" than PC gaming.

I just lol'ed at the comment about being able to fully develop a game start to end on a computer. You do realize that when I first mentioned the words videogame console I was talking only about playing the game. Yeesh.

Obviously a computer is a great buy especially if you can utilize the processor and graphics for things other than videogames such as image/video editing, and... etc. But that's not the point I was making.

My pc costed roughly $600~700 and I still play the new games. (It's 2 years old in 2 months.)

And about the develop part, drath is right. Have fun moding something on your PS3 without installing linux on it (what makes it a PC in fact).
