I was so excited about this stuff when i found out. I live out in the middle of no where, and there is no CABLE tv out here. I took me months just to find out about the DSL service out here. So i have a regular antenna on my tv, but since im so far out here in nowhere, it barely receives a good reception so I am not able to watch my favorite shows and stay up todate with them.
I could get satellite, but it cost way too much and isn't really worth it. I don't like TV that much, ha
I found out that you can goto most national TV network's websites and watch full steaming high quality episodes online! which is awesome.
One of my favorite shows is HOUSE. SO i went to fox.com and found their FOX ON DEMAND service which allows you to watch the full epsidoes
http://www.fox.com/fod/
They have HOUSE and some other great shows. It's awesome.
My other favorite show on TV is DIRTY JOBS, and MythBusters on the Discovery channel.
so i went over to http://video.discovery.com/ and was able to watch full episodes of mythbuster. haven't yet found Dirty Jobs, but i hope soon.
You can do this on many of the major networks such as NBC, ABC, CBS, and even the major cable channels such as comedy central, and others. Discovery's channel is a major cable channel.
i think this is awesome, and removes the need to get some tv service such as CABLE or satellite.
Now all i need is to get some hardware that'll allow me to hook my computer up to my tv so i can chill and watch it. I think the s-video will allow me to, so i just need the cable because both my computer and tv have hookups for it. At least I think its called s-video ha
Here are the links to "full episodes" on the networks that I've found so far. if you know of anymore, please post.
Discovery Channel:
http://video.discovery.com/
NBC
http://www.nbc.com/Video/
ABC
http://dynamic.abc.go.com/stre.....p;lpos=FEP
CBS
http://www.cbs.com/innertube/
Comedy Central
http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml
** I'm unsure if these are the full cuspidors though. I'll have to check soon.
I'll add more soon, if you know of any, please reply and include it within your post.
Also the coolest thing about this feature on the sites is that you can now watch them whenever you want, without the need of any Digital Video Recorder or anything like that. _________________ http://www.snapcite.com | http://www.rootsOfevil.com | http://www.MJHQ.com |

I actually think it's a pretty cool idea as well because there are times when I might want to sit down and watch something or at least try to record it, but then something else happens and life gets in the way thus preventing me from actually being able to sit down and view the show. For some of the shows that I enjoy like CSI: Vegas, CSI Miami and CSI: New York, I feel fortunate because with my cable system you can view them on demand for a few weeks after they have initially aired on the television, but I do see that they have the old episodes online as well, which is really nice for those who are not given the same On Demand option that I have with my digital cable. I know my other favorite show Dexter is On Demand, but I do not think they show full episodes online since it is a cable network show, but that is another story.
With the shows that are available online, I do think that it gives the audience another chance to check out the shows that they are airing and it does expand their viewing audience greater than I would imagine they would do in airing something on television. I think it's a pretty good idea especially for people like yourself who only gets to enjoy the shows by this way. It is a very nice feature and it is good to see that the networks have finally started to try it out with their shows to generate some interest to their internet audience. |

It also it doesn't show that many commercials. So far i've only noticed the small one at the very beginning.
I wonder if all TV will end up this way It's all mostly digital now anyways.
i just wish i could sit on my pc and watch a full show or movie. I'm always having stuff pop up on here and i'm trying to do other things so it doesn't work out right, ha i actually have to concentrate on watching the movie and doing nothing else on here. _________________ http://www.snapcite.com | http://www.rootsOfevil.com | http://www.MJHQ.com |

Isn't this one of the reason's for the writers's strike? The broadcast companies are putting the TV shows online so everyone can just watch them for free whenever they want and the writers aren't getting any money for it.
If what I'm thinking is true... then I don't like it that broadcast companies are putting shows online for free. _________________

Not only that but i don't think they get paid from the sales of dvd's or anything either.
they aren't really on the net for free. They air short commercials just as they do when they air the shows on tv. Nothing different really. These shows are mostly aired on regular tv networks meaning all you need is a antenna to receive them on your tv, so viewers never have to pay anything to view them anyways. _________________ http://www.snapcite.com | http://www.rootsOfevil.com | http://www.MJHQ.com |

I don't think the main reason there was a writers strike was because they're putting shows online for free, so I don't think it's doing any harm.
The only problem is that you have to live in America/whatever country the company is based in to watch. But I watch shows on the BBC site, which is really handy. |

Are you serious? what does it say when you try to load them?
If its true then there has to be easy ways to get around it besides using slow proxies. _________________ http://www.snapcite.com | http://www.rootsOfevil.com | http://www.MJHQ.com |

Probably. I don't know, I haven't tried getting around them.
As for what they say when I load them, it's been a long time so I've forgotten. Try watching something on the BBC site and you'll get a legal whatnot message (if you live out of the UK that is). |

OK, only Comedy Central is available for me, for my location exactly. I have to live in United States to access them all, right?
I like the idea to share the OLD shows online. All these shows are already paid, I think it does no harm to put them on line for all people to watch for free. Maybe it is not right to put the shows there for downloading, but just for watching online is fine. I like everything that free online. |

Living in Canada, I have access to just about all those channels on my TV, but yet I am unable to access those websites because of where I live.
I'm getting pretty tired with the amount of BS that these companies come up with just to avoid having to negotiate a deal with the CRTC to allow them to give Canadians access to their material. We already get your stupid shows, just put them out there already! _________________ Come visit Shattered Abstracts! (Photoblog!) |

That sucks that you need to be in america to watch these shows.
i thought that you could watch some of these networks overseas? Maybe there are special versions for your country?
I'd love to be able to watch shows from other countries more than i would here. Such as live tv with news etc, Specially from Australia. I am inlove with that country
Anyone know of any site like that? _________________ http://www.snapcite.com | http://www.rootsOfevil.com | http://www.MJHQ.com |

Now, I'm not sure how legal this site is (considering it has movies that just came this month to theaters and stuff), but they insist that the website is 100% legal. |
unless those sites they link to do not legally allow them to post the links. i cannot see it being an illegal site, now anyone clicking those links and downloading the files are stealing these movies. |

Sometimes it is so hard to say no to these movies that just there online, and one click you can watch them for free. Even you know that it might be illegal.
Who is the one breaks the law? The one put these movies online or the one who watch? If it is all them both. What is the problem? |
