What happened to the Website of the Month? I don't think it has happened since September...
Is it just the admins forgetting to have the WOTM voting and stuff, or not enough participation from the members? I thought it was cool, and would like to see it come back (would be willing to help out if that is what it takes...) _________________ Rashy! |

We should start a petition or something to bring it back _________________ Rashy! |

It did happened, it's just that no one participated, so it's considered dead.
Anyway, I never considered it to be of any use, except for getting PBPP for the comments on the websites. Even if you win, there is hardly any reward for it, and not many websites was nominated for it. _________________

Perhaps making a line-up of people/sites who want to participate would be a good idea. This way you can see how many people are at least interested.
My site would gladly join the competition. _________________ Captain Jell-O Buster from the Future

Not only would it make the forum more lively, it would also be a great way of advertising the winners site. Mods, Admins? What do you guys think? Perhaps a sticky should be made to encourage more people to join the contest.... _________________ [img:a4f912901a]http://www.asusreviews.com/forum/images/logo.gif[/img:a4f912901a]

| yes i think for this reason we must help out and make people conciouss that we want to make this decision in the near future and by doing so we can make a change. Lets influence such as take these diffferetn suggestions and write it has our signature and make people sign treaties which will allow us to make an influence in this democratic forum for such and for and for lol omg i mean my point is that we can make this happen again by just doing stuff. |

I asked trel about this a while back, he said it was done with.
Seeing he seems to be the only dude behind making this site work, I don't feel to bad about it going - everyone here who runs their own site(s) should know how hard it is to keep stuff like this up in the air. _________________ For Metal and Rock interviews and reviews, go to www.heavymetalnation.com - You can Contribute too if you want!

Website of the month was nice, but it got somewhat boring to review the same bunch of websites over and over and yet over again. I do remember the 50 point posts fondly, though. The only times I ever managed high amounts were site of the month or steamy religion debates. _________________ Tarakana NET |

I believe SOTM died because the community of LLP is dying, it used to be a lot more active than it is right now, hopefully it will pick up again this Summer when people are out of school. But as I was saying, with a smaller LLP community there are less sites that are possible to be reviewed which is why we were getting the same sites every month (I just remembered when everyone was arguing about socceram and I laughed out loud) I must say I also was excited for each voting month for an easy 50 PBPP (along with sports playoffs where I posted my thoughts about each series) I would like to see a SOTM return, but only when it is ready to come back.
Another cool thing to have would be a SOTW, and no, I do not mean Site of the Week I mean Signature of the Week, I see a lot of sites have these successfully. _________________ Everyone else who made a big thread has a link in their sig... so I got one |

Hmm.
I believe ''sotm'' canceled not because the community get duller or because the community is sick and dying slowly.
It was obvious than , its should be obvious (for those whom been there) now that there were some standard/quality issues. We ;as those days community, should have created a quality line and help those ones who cannot reach the line.
In my opinion, if, right now there are few pages between the topics written in 2005 and topics written in 2007 ,the main reason would simply be that such events are not supported by (or created by) the L2p admins. _________________ Tell all the people that you know.

I really doubt that this will be brought back, since there are only so many people here with sites which would be eligible to go in the competition, it would be decent for a month or two then it would just go to what happened before with people who just throw there site in every month just for the hell of it and they don't take anyones advice or suggestions and there site doesn't even have a change to win anything. Did point out that and booed in the past.
I still support the idea that, the winners of the SOTM should have created some sort of group that guided and also provided some tutorial to beginners and for those who would like to improve their sites quality
And yea, they can find better and more professional guidance through some other Gfx sites but we should have started and pursued this path. And at the end, eventually we would become a source that would really help the beginners and friends.
I mean, its a matter of ''willing'' and demanding. There was a huge demand (and there still is , in my opinion) for this. Yet none are willing to take the job.
Its unfortunate to see that many people who could have been heavy cannons (in design) of this community are no where to be seen. So even if we want to pursue this road now. Its very likely that ,we are going to fail. _________________ Tell all the people that you know.
