Perhaps you could update me with details of as to when the draw for the semi final take place. I rather hope it will be on Friday lunch-time, so that I can listen live on the radio.
I guess you will be hoping to avoid Liverpool in the next round after they put seven goals past a hapless Birmingham City last evening. (Not bad for a team who supposedly could not score, they have hit the back of the net on fifteen occassions in the last three outings!!) Perhaps the lesson Arsenal gave them in The Premiership fixture recently rubbed off on them..?? _________________ It feels so empty without a signature, so here is some mindless gabble to occupy the space |

Any West Ham fans watching last night's game will be BEGGING to play Chelsea in the semis! If it wasn't for the fact that Newcastle were utterly sh!te and that the ref was a Chelsea fan, the blues embarrassed themselves as they found new depths of total disinterest in winning a game. A half decent side would have torn them to pieces. _________________ [img:72f68c01cd]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/YorkshireMag/newcastle_fc_fan.gif[/img:72f68c01cd] |

Well well well!
West ham united verses Charlton or Middlesbrough
West Ham United have a easy tie in the semi finals on paper. But it won't be as easy as it looks.
The tie is too be held over the weekend of the 22nd. Which means the night I booked off work on the 22nd for the Liverpool game was a waste of time! I bet the rearranged date clashes with a work night for me!
As off yet there is no final confirmation of the venues for the semi final ties
They will either be at Old trafford or Villa park.
I will post here when the Fa get off there butts and let us 'the fans know. |

Still no word from The Football Association as to where the fixtures will be played. I thought they were supposedly going to play the semi-finals at The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, so as to maximise their profits, much as they have done in recent years. That said, it failed miserably last year, when although Arsenal sold out of their quota, Blackburn did not, due to the distance and the blatent over-pricing of the tickets. Bear in mind I paid fourty-five English pounds for my ticket last year, whereas a game at Old Trafford would be far far cheaper, and would surely sell out without a problem.... Not to mention that the place is far easier for the fans to get to, rather than the snarl up in Cardiff, where seventy-two thousand fans are trying to cram their way out of a City and onto the motorway. At least in Manchester and Birmingham, there is more than one road out!! _________________ It feels so empty without a signature, so here is some mindless gabble to occupy the space |

It has been quite some time since I have popped into to this topic I made some weeks back.
It seems ever since I made this topic West Ham United have been on a downward spiral. They are losing premiership games left right and centre.
They will be going down faster then Monica Lewinsky in the white house soon.
I am actually really really happy with the season as a whole in this moment of time.
FA cup semi finalists and ninth place in the premiership, or is it tenth place in the premiership? I would have taken a top 10 finish at the start of the season. Or to put it another way, a top half finish.
And to be in the semi finals with a chance to progress to the final in the FA cup, well that is a dream come true. It is something I have never been part of due to by young age of 31.
Anyway should we get knocked out in the semi finals and finish 14th in the premiership league, I will be very happy with the way our first season back in the premiership has panned out.
Yes granted I shall be a bit disappointed in not progressing to the final of the FA cup or finishing in the top half of the premiership table. But if you had asked me Back in the sunny sunshiny months of June July and August what my expectations for the season would have been, well I would have said survival!
So all in all a quite superb and excellent start to life back in the premiership where West Ham United football club belong.
Come on you Irons.
Notice I failed to mention the miserable result against ten men Chelsea, lol
Don't want to double post, So I'll edit this one.
I was asked last night " are you nervous" I answered na, during the game I may get nervous if things are looking bad, but I'm fine.
So what on earth am I doing up after 3 hours sleep last night? I just want the match to start now! Get it over and done with. I was 6 years old in 1980 I don't remember the last final when it was played, seen the tape endless times since. But this is the one that means more to me then any other final West Ham have ever been in.
Three years ago one of my wishes was to see west ham, in a major final at wembley. two years later I have seen them at two major finals at Cardiff instead. I really thought this year I was going to see them at Wembley, cheers foreign builders!
So what ever happens today, let me fulfill part of that dream and see them play in another major cup final albeit at Cardiff (our second home) once again.
Come on you Irons!!!!!!

Unfortunately for me, I was twelve in 1980, and went to The FA Cup Final that year. I have terrible memories of wlking out of Wembley Stadium with tears dribbling out of the very corners of my eyes.
One bright thing did come out of that particular game, and that was the end of the so-called "professional foul". Willie Young got away with it on the day, and I would guess that he would be the last in English football to do so.
As it turned out, West Ham United won the FA Cup that day courtesy of probably the only headed goal Trevor Brooking ever scored!!
So, The Hammers are just ninety or so minutes away from a potential final with Liverpool, who beat Chelski by the odd goal in three yesterday. I have just this minute tuned in. Kick-off is less than an hour away, and obviously from the neutrals point of view, lets hope that football is the winner! _________________ It feels so empty without a signature, so here is some mindless gabble to occupy the space |

Here we go then...
I have to say I would like West Ham to win and get through, I think Boro have Europe so to see the Hammers get through would not only be good for the game but would also produce I think a better final...
My prediction for today is 2-1 to West Ham after extra time.
That said I wouldn't be shedding too many tears if they got spanked 7-0 of course...

Well well well! FA Cup finalists and playing European football next season. How many West Ham fans would have thought that last August?!
To be fair, Boro were by far the better side in the first half but couldn't convert any of their chances or make their possession count but the second half was a lot more even and West Ham won it with a well-taken goal. Funny old game, innit! _________________ [img:72f68c01cd]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/YorkshireMag/newcastle_fc_fan.gif[/img:72f68c01cd] |

Boro's strikers were dire yesterday and Rigott will be kicking himself today after that miss...
Great finish from Harewood but on the play Boro should of finished them off in the first half..
That won't bother Hammers fans though - fair play to them and I think they should be grateful that Liverpool dumped Chelsea out..
I couldn't see the Hammers beating Chelsea - but I could see them beating Liverpool! _________________ [img:af0aabb626]http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1478/gtm22pl.jpg[/img:af0aabb626] |

Just reading some of the comments on here.
Firstly I fancied us doing Chelsea in the final, don't think we will do Liverpool. In fact I can see the biggest ever FA cup final score ever coming up next month.
Secondly to answer Magpie on the question
"How many West Ham fans would have thought that last August?!"
The answer is none what so ever.
I would have taken 17th on the final day of the season. And get the cups out of the way as soon as possible.
From a neutral point of view, yesterdays game would have been pretty boring I guess.
Yes Boro had more then the lions share of the ball, but at the end of the day it's goals that win matches, and we scored one more then them.
So come the final May 13th, Which I doubt I will be able to get a ticket for! I for one personally don't care if we lose 10-0. Being there is good enough for me, Like the Magpie says " who would have thought that last August?
Of course it would make an already great season even greater should we win! but the main thing is, we're all going on a European tour.
Thank you for reading.
One very happy hammer. |

I was chatting to a few of my mates yesterday and they fancied their chances much more against Liverpool then Chelsea.
Make no mistake about it - Chelsea are more then capable of beating Liverpool but they fooked up on the tactics completely....
I think West Ham can do Liverpool but will need to come out much better then Boro. Few people have said they didn't deserve it which is rubbish. A quality finish that was the difference... Boro had their chances and blew it - West Ham got a sniff and Harewood buried it - game over!!!
My mate said it's the significance of it more then anything - 6th in the Championship and not exactly setting the world alight - in the Premiership and quite a few great wins under their belt and a solid position.... It's the start he said...
He will get a ticket too but said he will go up there safe in the knowledge they are in Europe next season so can relax a LITTLE bit more then usual...
Harewood in the after match interviews cracked me up...
"Marlon did West Ham only turn up in the second half?"
"No way we've been here all day!!!"
Great finish - not so quick on the uptake bless him.... _________________ [img:af0aabb626]http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1478/gtm22pl.jpg[/img:af0aabb626] |

I noticed at that too!
He was genuinely choked up though and you could see how much it meant to him, which is great to see. He's had one heck of a season this year so far and it's going to be capped off with a cup final. Who knows, maybe scoring the winning goal??!!! _________________ [img:72f68c01cd]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/YorkshireMag/newcastle_fc_fan.gif[/img:72f68c01cd] |

Who cares what he said I noticed as well.
I think I wouldn't stop smiling all year if we won the final. Still haven't got the grin off my face from the semi final yet |

Thats what a lot of fans have said - couldn't give a monkeys what he said he scored!
He's taken a lot of stick down at Upton Park but I honestly think he wasn't suited to the Championship - some players game is more suited to The Premiership and you can't argue with his record this year!
For the people who accused him of having no passion I bet they are not now...
My mate sent me a link to the interactive replays of the goal on BBC1 with "I've watched this 1000 times already and even in pixelated form it's even better then porn my friend"
I would say West Ham fans deserve it but sod that -my mate is in Tenerife and was sending me texts all night from Linekars and Bobbys Bar - I sent one at 3am saying "This is not right!!! This is not the way it's supposed to go!!! You lot were supposed to be floundering in the f*cking Championship"
He left me a voicemail with him cracking up laughing and singing bubbles down the phone...
West Ham fans eh? Hehehe... _________________ [img:af0aabb626]http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1478/gtm22pl.jpg[/img:af0aabb626] |

| west ham offical site wrote: | Following our victory at Villa Park last Sunday, we are pleased to set out below details of our ticket allocation and selling arrangements for the FA Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on 13 May 2006. We have been advised that we will receive an initial allocation of 23,500 tickets, possibly increasing to a maximum of 24,000. We are hopeful that this will be sufficient to satisfy demand from all bondholders and season ticket holders but accept that we are unlikely to be able to offer any tickets to club members or for general sale.
The size of allocation is a major disappointment, following the allocation of almost 34,000 for each of our two recent play-off finals, and we recognise that many of our loyal supporters will be unable to obtain tickets for this important game in the club's history. The ticket allocation is roughly the same for each of the two finalists.
For this event, the Millennium Stadium has decreed that no duplicate or replacement tickets will be issued. It is very unusual for venues to adopt such a strict policy but we are given to understand that it is a consequence of some abuse of the process for another event recently staged there. For this reason it will be necessary to despatch all tickets by Royal Mail's "special delivery" service, which guarantees 48 hour delivery and an ability to trace, at short notice, any mail which might go astray. None of the Royal Mail's other services offer an adequate level of security for documents of such value. Bulk despatch of special delivery items requires specialist software, which the club does not possess, and it would be unrealistic to attempt to undertake this process manually for up to 24,000 tickets.
The club has therefore decided, once again, to utilise the services of Ticketmaster to sell all Cup Final tickets to supporters. The preferred option of the West Ham United ticket office selling our allocation was simply impractical for the mailing reasons explained above.
It will be noted that Ticketmaster's service charges are considerably higher than the club, and somewhat higher than their own for last season's play off final. We can assure supporters that the club earns nothing from these charges and has negotiated with Ticketmaster to minimise them. However, Ticketmaster has emphasised that a major element of their costs is the credit card fee - a percentage of the face value of tickets which are significantly more expensive than the play off final tickets. The additional cost of special delivery is unavoidable for the reasons explained above.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following categories of season ticket holders should apply through the West Ham United ticket office and not Ticketmaster.
Bondholders - Monday 1st May
A sufficient number of Band 1 seats situated in what is considered internally to be the best position will be held until the close of business on the above date (10am to 5pm) Bondholders may apply in person or submit a postal application to be received in advance of the above date. Bondholders can apply for a maximum of one ticket per bond held and additional tickets cannot be requested should the holder also own a season ticket.
Bond reference numbers will not be recognised by Ticketmaster.
Unfortunately, due to the Millennium Stadium, zero duplicate policy, explained above, all tickets will require collection from the West Ham United ticket office.
Away Match Season Ticket Holders
We are pleased to confirm that all away match season ticket holders will be allocated a match ticket for the Final. This will be processed automatically and you do not need to make a separate application.
Unfortunately, due to the Millennium Stadium, zero duplicate policy, explained above, all tickets will require collection from the West Ham United ticket office.
Tickets will be ready for collection from 10am Monday 1st May onwards. Please note you will be required to provide proof of identity and we will require a signature for all tickets collected.
Disabled Season Ticket Holders - £25 plus carer
All disabled season ticket holders will be sent an application form which will need to be completed and returned to the ticket office by no later then Tuesday 2nd May - Disabled season ticket holders should not apply by any other means.
West Ham United will receive 58 wheelchair spaces and priority will be given to those season ticket holders who attended the Semi Final.
Unfortunately, due to the Millennium Stadium, zero duplicate policy, explained above, all tickets will require collection from the West Ham United ticket office. Disabled season ticket holders whose applications are successful may wish to collect their tickets at the Spurs game on Sunday 7th May.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All other supporters will need to apply through Ticketmaster, as follows.
Season ticket holders will be split into two categories, those who attended the FA Cup Semi Final and those who were either unsuccessful or did not apply.
This has been done to ensure that those supporters with the highest priority points totals and who have held season tickets for the previous 5 years receive priority. We remain hopeful that all other season ticket holders will nevertheless receive tickets for the final.
Season ticket holders who attended the Semi Final - 10am, Monday 1st May 06 to 5pm, Tuesday 2nd May,
All other season ticket holders - 8am to 5pm, Wednesday 3rd May 06.
How to apply
By telephone - 0870 789 4832 |
They sure know how to knock a man off his high!
I have practically no chance of getting a ticket for the final!
Makes me laugh how they gave 34,000 for the play offs and only 23,500 for the FA cup.
Looks like there's no point in even attempting to get one. By the time they reach general sale for the likes of me. They would have all gone.
Never mind I have supported them all of my 31 years on this earth and had a season ticket for 10 years up to 2 seasons ago when a combitnation of money and work stopped me going. Never mind I have been to half the home games this season. And never mind I spend a fortune on the matchday programme and offical merchendise.
Lets just give them a measly 23,000 tickets. I know it's not wholey West Hams fault. But they should stand up to the FA. Keep the sponsers happy by all means. But with a capacity of 74,500 Shouldn't the majority of tickets be given to the supporters of the clubs involved? double 23,500 = 47,000. That leaves 27,500 roughly for Sponsers and such like. That's about 4,000 tickets more then supporters are getting!
For a club like West Ham that has waited 26 years for a chance to play in the FA cup final again, and could sell out the stadium on it's own, I find it disgusting and unacceptable really.
Has the FA Cup lost it's glamour? Not with the FA it hasn't, It's a money spinner for them. **** the hard working fan. Get the prawn sandwhich brigade in (as Roy Keane once said) That's where the real money is. Sod the mugs that have supported them for years and years.
Ok rant over, before I put my fist through the monitor seeing I am so wound up |
