when i first came here i wanted the hosting, there wasn't pbpp and stuff like that then, there was only 1 plan that had 1gig or something like that Wink so it was (and still is Very Happy Wink ) the best free host. Now i'm here because i'm used to be here. I've never made a site that lasted longer then a month. Still i stay here, it's the best free host, has a great community and this is the best way to not get bored when you don't know what to do Wink

I was searching for the meaning of necrophilia....

Seriously I was conforming what i thought. Back then a user called Ping I think had started a topic regarding misinterpretation of the lifelesspeople name.

Smile Most odd so far.

[I was nota ctually looking for a host, I thought I had found the best before. How was I wrong]

A user who hasn't be active in a while here by the name of Stwong introduced me to these forums. I decided to stay here and get hosting because all the other free hosts were pure crap.
I stay here for the hosting, not the community. If I want community, I'll go to the our town's quilting bee. Wink

Google.

I came here maybe a month or so before the "Post for Host" transistion period, where we had to submit an application for service.

If you remember back then, that was while my site had rotating intro page images, the most popular one among them being the "Nigerian Scammer Scam" and the "Bob Saget has a kind word for you" image.

I am quite interested in which forum Trel moderatates. And Jacky, your story is very intersting. Smile
Mine is just, I searched around came here. End Silly

probably webhostingtalk/freewebhostingtalk. That's how I found LLP. I've changed a bunch of free hosts and was always reluctant to use the forum-based hosts. I saw Trel's posts in fwht, and saw that LLP has quite a history compared to other ad-free hosts, so I decided to sign up. That's it.

I'm actually here for several reasons. I do use the free hosting here, which is an excellent service and has come in handy for a couple of personal projects. Another reason is the interesting and varied community. There are a lot of cool people here that post very interesting and original ideas. Plus, there's not as much sensless crap going on here as on a lot of forums out there. Thoguh there is spam and so on, it is kept to a minimum.

Another reason that I'm interested in forums (as well as other forms of communication on the web) is my area of study. I am in college currently majoring in psychology and sociology (yes, a double major) and I plan on having one of my specialties being the sociology of the internet and internet psychology. I haven't gotten into any real research, but I do do a bit of observing, which is part of why I don't post so much sometimes.

Yeah, you are right. The PBPP system was introduced in late-2004. Wink
