I personally dont like that many E rated games because i like to play shooting games like GRAW2, Counter strike, half life 2 and team fortress 2 - therefore i like the realism in the graphics. The only E rated games I like are mario super striker, mario double dash, and a bunch of mario games _________________ Programmers

Ratings are indeed important, and people do care about them. I certainly don't want to go to a rated R movie, and hear little kids crying (either because they are babies that stupid parents brought in, or small children that are frightened by violence and so on). The same applies to games, it's just common sense: little kids shouldn't be exposed to violence, swearing and blood.
It's a bit pathetic how many stores don't do age checks on games and movies (due to laziness, and due to wanting extra money). I've always felt that many of the M rated games such as Grand Theft Auto, wouldn't do as well if age checks were in place more. I find it a bit hard to believe so many adults want the repetitive garbage of each GTA sequel. _________________ http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

Well, I'm not sure about big cities, but i live in a small town, and i've tried to rent a game rated M, and they wouldn't let me. I guess it just depends on the worker. Laziness most likley. _________________ “When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.”

After I turned 17, I stopped caring what a game was rated. I'll probably start caring again when I'm 30 and have a kid who wants to play Grand Theft Auto: Hovercar Edition. Some places check, and it's gotten better. However, it should've been much better many years ago. No age checks are due to laziness and just greed in my view. If a store can make extra money from some teenager on a M rated game, they obviously will (depending on who is running the cash register and/or store).
This same thing applies to music, movies, cigarettes and alcohol. I love hearing about sting operations (for cigarettes and alcohol), as it shows just how stupid these stores are. In my view, a few sting operations for video games should be done. It would wake up stores, and make them actually care who buys items. _________________ http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

I don't think I'll be that strict with my kids. I think kids should be able to play whatever games they want (they're just mindless entertainment). Parents should pay attention to their kids and make sure they aren't retarded and believe video games are real so they can go out and kill a bunch of people (it'll be OK because they probably have extra lives, otherwise they're noobs, and who cares?).

I've always vowed not to be too strict (like my parents were when they refused to let me buy one of the Sims expansions because it had "sexual themes" in the rating...I was 15), but I do want to set some limits, just to make sure they don't think they can get away with anything. And I certainly won't let my kids grow up thinking that hitting people with a car is a way to earn money in real life. It will never cease to amaze me that people can be that...stupid. I think that the E-rated/Everyone games are kinda fun at sometimes. They are out there for little kids to play or even Adults like the enjoyable Legend Of Zelda games. My dad is a big Mario fan. Mario went from Donkey Kong to Mario Galaxy in 10-20 years I think, so theres lots of Adults that used to play Mario. The could still play them thats why its called E-rated. People are probably against it cause they can see all these games that have a bit swearing and sexual content. They might think it would look better cause it has blood and gore and that will make it more detailed and real. I personally love some E-rated games but, they made some crappy games for E. The best RPG out there thats E-rated would most likely be Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. _________________ [img:cbc26a4efc]http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee297/Fallingspark/Signatures/Andrewsig.jpg[/img:cbc26a4efc] |

| I've never really been one to look at the ratings of a game. If I liked the thought of it or thought it looked cool, I would pick it up buy it and just play it. I know Mario is a classic that I wouldn't care what it was rated. E rated games don't bother me and I think it's cool as long as someone likes the game. If it's about cartoons or kid's shows, I'm not one for that, but if it's something cool, I have no problem with the e rated games. |

Yeah, I usually never check the rating, I usually read the back to see if it's a good game. Personally I Would play any game that have a good story line or it's well done etc. If it is about cartoon I wouldn't play it but, if it was an Anime game I probably would because I'm a big fan. I have to say that all games are fun in a way and thats killing me cause of the online game Jerreth. _________________ [img:cbc26a4efc]http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee297/Fallingspark/Signatures/Andrewsig.jpg[/img:cbc26a4efc] |
