I live in israel so this adds more meaning to what I have to say. My best friend is a muslima nd before I moved to israel my previous best friend was also a muslim. I mean seriously, being a muslim is different from being a christian or a jew just in the way you interprit god, so why would that have something to do with how smart you are?

Another thing I want to say is that in the news everyday i hear about new terorist attacks and stuff and even though I know that the ones that are responsible are the Hamas and not all of the Palestinian citizen it is still hard to draw the line since there's no way to know what a person supports.

What everything adds up to in my opinion is that you can be a murderer,a saint, a terorist, smart, stupid or anything else...but that has absolutely nothing to do with your religion.

I believe most people in the general public are complete idiots and this is the reason that they group all Muslims together while they have no idea what the religous beliefs of Islam. I actually happen to be pretty much in the dark when it comes to Islam but I know that the muslim terrorists are extremists that take religous articles to literal such as where it says that all people without these beliefs should die on the same page where it says murder is wrong. It just shows that a lot of Americans are just complete idiots

One thing nobody can tell me is what somebody else believes. If you tell me what you believe, I'll have to take your word for it. But if you tell me what somebody else believes, I won't believe you.

Somebody quoted a passage from the Koran, saying that if you're a muslim, you have to believe it. And from that passage we are told that Islam is a violent religion.

OK, guess what: Much of the propaganda that Islamic extremists use today was developed in the US, as a way of recruiting guerillas to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan back in the 80's. The idea was to use the deeply held respect for their religion, and "spin" it, to get the Afghan people to fight the "Godless Communists".

Now our chickens come home to roost.

Duh, I wonder if there's anything in the Bible that's as violent? Do a word search of the Bible and Koran for words like "kill them" and "blood" and get back to me.

I just have to shake my head when I see all these pots calling the kettles black.

... and nobody seems to get that religious faith is just a tool that despots use to motivate their ignorant followers. Islam, Judaism, Christianity have all been used to motivate people to kill. Even Buddhism.

None of the established religions are bad. The vast majority of mankind is peace loving, and all established religions promote and encourage kindness toward others and other social virtues.

Not entirely sure about the sites policy re:- posting links, but anyhoo, this is an excerpt from an Australian show that regularly does 'polls' in the U.S.

This truly has to be seen to be believed. I think it shows the power of America's Right Wing fear and hate mongering media in frightening clarity.

I am muslim. I have 3.5 gpa like every quarter. but still, why do people think of us like lowly stupid people. i was born here in the U.S I am a citizen with the passport and everything. My dad is a high computer engineer and my mom is a teacher. Why do people hate us? Just because I am muslim? We, the true muslim, ARE NOT TERRORISTS. WE DO NOT KILL JUST BECAUSE WE WANT TO. WE ARE PEACE LOVING PEOPLE. Some one please tell me why this is happening to muslims all around the world? Just because of Palestine, iraq, afganhistan, and the 9/11. We muslim are not like those dirty peopel that only call themselves muslim from the outisde but inside truly belive in nothing. they try to ruin the name of all muslims around the world. What do you have to say about this?

Most people grow up around stereotypes and judgmentals, I'm only 15 and I have encountered a lot of idiots who judge one person by what the majority is like. I try not to be stereotypical but it's hard not to at times. Usually if someone tells me something about a person I disregard it and give that person a fair chance to prove what he or she is really like. I believe that if you think it is absolutely necessary to judge someone, which it normally isn't, then get to know the person, don't judge by what you hear (What people tell you) or see, because things tend to be misunderstood. When it comes to your situation, individuality. I know it's obvious but I'm going to point it out anyway, because some people are too dumb to comprehend the obvious, not one person is alike, they might believe in the same thing, in this case it's religion, but that normally doesn't affect their character. You say your a good person, right on, they act bad, oh well, I hate the fact that mostly everyone today judges someone by what they hear or, sometimes something they saw which they take the wrong way, and most of all the people the person hangs out with, or something shared in common with someone who has done something that hurts others like him. If you really want to know what a person is like, talk to them, don't judge.

Well to be honest even the terrorists are true Muslims, they are just extremists. Remember the origins of the Muslim faith, just like the Christian have a lot of darkness in them and on the moderation of these teachings is what has both faiths being much less dark. However, I don't think person's believe that Muslims are stupid and lowly. Addtionally there is no *right wing fear and hate mongering.* After all if you listen to most *right wingers* they clarify whom they are concerned with. Specifically extremists who are hijacking the moderate faith of Muslim. Not Muslims as a whole. Back during the crusades a large portion of the world felt that ALL Christians were evil and war mongers. However, it was only a small faction of the church that was involved in propegating this war.

I don't hate any religion, actually I don't care about most of them, some religions are great. All preach to do good. A few Bad elements are there in all religions and because of that you can't hate a community. I think as long as you arer a good human being you will be loved by everybody. That is what really matters all other talks about religions are simply b3llshjt.....

I don't know how is in the United States, but in my country racism does not exists. I live in a peaceful country. Unfortunately there are not many muslims here but I'm sure they are welcome. There are dirty people in all the cultures and religions: muslims, christians, etc. I hate racism! I know not all muslims are terrorists.

...it doesn't exist? Or do you not notice it? I find it hard to believe that there is a place where no one is ostracized for their race, culture, or religion. Here in the US, it varies from region to region, but some of the most common groups railed against are blacks, christians, pagans, muslims, and native americans.

I know what you're talking about, because that's exactly what is happening at our college. theres this split between the white people+asians against all the muslims.

Personally im not a muslim, so i definitely don't know how it exactly feels, but i can understand where you are coming from.

Like other posters here, just stay away from the haters, keep doing what you are doing and believe in yourself, that is all.

Cheers.

It really is so sad that there is prejudice still in the world.

Personally I blame the Eskimos, fish eating b**tards.

Sorry, Inuit, I was being racist for a moment.

Where i grew up had a big population of Muslims. Some were nice people, but a bigger portion of them were complete a-holes. Sorta a flavor of them being better than everyone else. As in non-violent...that comment made me laugh. 3 fights in one year, all were with muslims that started the fight. You beat up one of them for attacking you and then you have their whole family after you.

Am I saying all are bad, not in the least. I was friends with some. I found some of their practices in life weird but that didn't bother me. What bothered me was when some acted like there was nothing better than them and treated others in that way.

In general to what i think is that christianity and muslims are like two large packs of wolves that tends to protect their own packs. there would be small groups that would co-exist in the same space, but the big wolves keeps their fiery eyes fixed to each other. don'cha think..?

muslims to what i see have closer family ties regardless of location and culture. but for christians close family ties depends mainly on regions, culture, and society they are in. what's the secret... i do know... it could be something written in quoran or something... reciting prayers together i guess (family that prays together, stays together). i haven't read it though. i honestly respect their religion so i did not tempt myself to read it and criticize it like i normally do on bibles of various christian sectors. haha

human nature... dazzles me...
