**WARNING: The Subject is TRUE, prepare yourself BEFORE click the link"

http://havenworks.com/

*This one was digged out about 1 year before, but the website still not improved

*I dunno it still under maintenance or out of control - I don't want to see it has any update or not.

*As I said before, this website design REALLY badly. You have been warned.

Comment: Old style is not anything bad if you only have this kind of knowledge, web safe color also.

But this kind of layout is forcing people using text browser to view (*no w3m but lynx!) is not acceptable when it is not suppose to be viewed by web browser .

If I remove the layout may be the content is good, but I cannot read it anymore when I have my first eye contact to the page...The graphic is worst combination and the use of column is bad (Umm....I said nothing about their use of table, because this is old style web page and it is much minor issue)

i was being sarcastic, but mine is still probably bad.

given the content and the layout, i'd say the person running that site has problems with organisational skills at the minimm, or a mental health disorder at the worst.

This is definately designed this way on purpose, or somewhat. The people/person that makes it is quite novice at making a modern website (as the source is all in strict HTML with no css); however, there is some javascripts and does have a proper meta tags and does have a doctype. So for that reason it does look like it's done on purpose.

If I look at in terms of progressiveness then this site definately excels. I have never seen a site like this before, so for that reason it works, and I like it a lot. It is quite unique with how much content, information and images are all cluttered together. Furthermore the hierarchy of items seems to be very decent, the least important things are small, while the most important are bigger, and sometimes probably oversized.

After I say things like that, it is completely lost with the theme or content. Because this is a news site, and I would not come here to read the news because it's terribly designed; however, if it was say... a site for a progressive band or some other type of art site I would definately stop by and read the information, because there would be a reason for the design.

I think it is not that bad, even I only get this after clicking on your heavymetalnation/Main.php.

Wow, that's probably the first 7 column design that I have seen on the web.

I don't think this was done on purpose. I guess the backend code has become so unmanagable that it is too much work to change the look.

I suppose they tried to mimick the multicolumn layout commonly seen in newspapers (although the insane use of colour speaks: tabloid!), but we know this rarely works out well on the web.

Judging by the owner's other design work , I think he hasn't developed his skills beyond the basic WYSIWYG editor features. Confused

I guess I take part of my statement back, or at least rephrase, while yes it does look like it was done intentionally, it is because of lack of skill rather than being "progressive". I can't argue with "his other design work" ClickFanatic supplied. It looks like this guy has made it big in the web world, it's too bad it's as a joke.

haha true, i cant believe people have actually asked him to make them a website, but all the site's he has made are hosted on his own site...

Actually a modern WYSIWYG program is capable of generating perfectly correct HTML.

Unfortunately, valid code doesn't automatically mean that the page looks good. Wink

Yeah that website is awful, it gives me headaches just looking at it. I do not know what that guy was smoking making it. It just needs to be torn down and rebuilt as soon as possible. The web layout is so basic and disgusting. There should be separate pages for most of the material rather than sticking it all in one place.

Check the source, the meta tags say "Mozilla/4.8 [en] (Windows NT 5.0; U) [Netscape]" under generator.
So I think the site was made with Mozilla Composer.
