ECW failed again last night.
I really think they need to have matches involving different people more. It seems like the only people that wrestle on the show (regularly) are: Tommy Dreamer, Test, Mike Knox, Sandman, Al Snow, Stevie Richards, Sabu and Big Show.
They hype promos for many people, but haven't debuted them on TV yet: Shannon Moore, Fertig (the vampire), etc. It's a bit of joke that Fertig has been on all ECW television shows so far, and has yet to wrestle. Building a debuting character is one thing, but overdoing it is another thing... a bad thing. In my opinion, Fertig could've worked as Mordecai (on Smackdown...a while back) if WWE would have done it better.
They also need to stray away from inter-brand matches. It seems like they can't find decent main eventers, so they throw in some Raw or Smackdown wrestler to fight the ECW champ in the main event.
Hopefully when/if they ever wrestle... they will make the show better than it is.
In some Smackdown news, SPOILERS AHEAD for Friday's Smackdown...

Batista will now face Ken Kennedy at Great American Bash. I wonder what Ken did to make WWE mad? He was on such a great winning streak, and he lost to Matt Hardy last week. Now he will get squashed by Batista at GAB I bet. I don't see why they couldn't just have Batista join Rey/King Booker in a 3-way for the GAB main event. Everyone basically knows Batista will be going for the title at Summerslam probably. Why not just sample it this month?! _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

I also thought that Rhino should have probably lost to Monty Brown, to help Brown get over more. But, I guess this might've been the right decision, because with the way they've been giving Rhino TV time, it seems like they're trying to get him over as well. With having a NC in a match, it seems like both Rhino and Monty can both get over (since Monty Brown didn't technically lose, his winning streak is still techincally in tact).
As far as ECW is concerned, it wasn't great, but they're slightly getting better after every show. I do agree with you in saying that they have been throwing around a lot of interbrand matches. I don't agree with it either, but as I said before, the new ECW has only been around for a little over 1 month. It hasn't really had a chance to really develop any main event superstars. Like I said, give it some time, and they should slowly stray away from that.
But to comment on the upcoming ECW wrestlers, I do agree that they have been giving Fertig the Vampire quite a bit of TV time, but yet he hasn't gotten in the ring yet. That is a waste. I'm not sure where they are going with his character. I (as well as probably many fans) didn't like the "Mordecai" character from a few years ago, for it actually made me turn off the TV everytime he was on. But, I am looking forward to the debut of some of the upcoming wrestlers, such as CM Punk, and Francine. I think they're doing a pretty decent job building up Punk's character, and I've actually seen him wrestle a couple times. He's pretty talented. I'm kinda curious to see how they'd use Francine too, when she finally comes in.
I've read your spoiler for Smackdown (only because I might miss it due again to pre-emption in my area). If Batista was gonna be challenged by a Smackdown Superstar, I thought it would've been that guy (since he's the biggest "heel" currently without a match). Honestly, I thought they might've just randomly thrown in Big Show to fight Batista (in a non-[ECW] title match) to try to get Batista over and at the same time, promote the ECW name more. I honestly don't think they should've made the championship match a triple threat match, for it would've killed a lot of buildup already established for the Mysterio-Booker match. It would seem more realistic for Batista to go for the title in Summerslam (since his original match with Mark Henry was supposed to be a #1 contender's match for that title). _________________ [img:5f924247e9]http://obecorp.com.ru/banner.gif[/img:5f924247e9] |

My pre-GAB thoughts...
The GAB PPV had the potential to possible be a pretty good show, but from the looks of it, many injuries may have killed a lot of that chance. Even though many people don't really see Mark Henry as a "top guy" in the WWE yet, I think that he has significantly improved since his last time around. Not to mention, his match against Batista already had some good 6 months of buildup, so there were some decent storylines going into that match that may have made it entertaining to watch. His knee injury was really a bad break.
Now Bobby Lashley isn't able to compete due to liver complications. This totally kills the US Championship match. Tentatively, it is scheduled to now be a one-on-one match between Finlay and Regal. But, to be honest, I think they are gonna throw in a 3rd competitor in there, possibly Matt Hardy. If they do that, I see Hardy winning the belt. I'm not basing that assumption on anything, because I rarely read those "insider" wrestling sites that supposedly give all the scoop. But we'll see what happens.
Even though Khali isn't a great wrestler and Taker wasn't what he once was, the Punjabi Prison match is still very anticipated, because of how the structure may actually look like. It could still be a good match though, but not because Khali is wrestling. The anticipation of the structure, and possibly the performance of the Undertaker may potentially make this match watchable.
The World Championship match could be good too. Booker T has been a good character during the past couple of months, and showed why he deserves another title reign (despite the fact that with the exception of the battle royal, he's always been losing). I think he's gonna win the title tonight. The WWE probably doesn't wanna make a mistake in making Mysterio into another John Cena, where they create an undeserving champion who continuously "defies the odds" and in turn, has a lot of the fans turn on him. I know skillwise, Rey is way ahead of Cena, but considering how a lot of the wrestling fans today are, that probably won't come into consideration. So I figure the WWE will take action now and have Rey drop the belt, before they create another disaster. I'm sure the fans will still cheer for Rey if he drops the belt. Does anyone else possibly smell a Chavo turn? Guess we'll see.
As far as the other matches, they just seem to be filler. The tag-match could be okay, but I see Kendrick and London retaining, because they haven't really gotten their chance to shine with the belt yet. The Pittbulls have been an entertaining tag-team to watch though, so no matter what the result, this feud may continue. But the four way diva match and the cruserweight match just seem to be filler.
And I'm not gonna buy the PPV. I am really curious to see what happens. When all is said and done, hopefully I'll be saying "ALL HAIL KING BOOKA!!!" _________________ [img:5f924247e9]http://obecorp.com.ru/banner.gif[/img:5f924247e9] |

I certainly hope King Booker doesn't win the title. It's almost a given Batista will win at Summerslam (maybe a little later). If Booker is given the title now, it will be a short title reign I bet.
As for the rest of Great American Bash, I can bet the event won't be that good. Like most lesser PPV's, it will be average or below average.
Next month is Summerslam, and I can somehow bet this will be the card:
*Hulk Hogan vs Randy Orton (Only confirmed match I believe)
*World champ Rey Mysterio or King Booker vs Batista
*DX vs Spirit Squad or McMahons (I'm leaning towards McMahons, since it's been rumored SS is splitting up.)
*Trish Stratus vs Melina
Plus more of course. I hope after Summerslam, the DX/McMahons+Spirit Squad feud ends. I'm sick of it, and I'm sure there is others that are sick of it as well. Fix the tag division already, and stop having Raw be the DX show.
People call Smackdown the "B-show", but in my opinion Smackdown is much better. Each week on Raw, there is dumb jokes by DX. On Smackdown, there isn't garbage like that each week. The tag divisions are about even, but at least Smackdown doesn't have their team jobbing so much. It seems like SS always lose lately, in their feud with DX. That lessens the value of the tag titles, if you ask me. The main event is about even, but needs work on both shows. Pay per view events are about even as well, all lesser events (anything that isn't Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerlsam and Survivor Series) are basically an average or below average event usually.
Great American Bash is going on right now. I didn't order it, I'm just reading the results online. Here are some notes of what has happened so far. SPOILERS...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
*Matt Hardy was the mystery opponent for Cruiserweight champ Gregory Helms. However, the title wasn't on the line. Helms won the match. Well it was pretty dumb to have it non-title. Michael Cole said Hardy wasn't in the cruiserweight division anymore. So what's the point to have Hardy face Helsm then? There is Psychosis, Super Crazy, etc that Helms could've faced. During the match, Jeff Hardy was mentioned a few times. That's further proof Jeff is coming back (a mistake in my opinion).
*WWE did the old "bait and switch" technique again: Undertaker was scheduled to face Great Khali in the "Punjabi Prison" match, but Big Show fought Undertaker instead. So I guess WWE doesn't have enough confidence in Khali (or they are going to do the match at Summerslam). From the sounds of it, the Punjabi Prison match doesn't seem that exciting. Think of it as basically a double cage hardcore match.
There is two cages, to win the match you must escape both of them. In the ring, there is a table of weapons.
*Also on the show: Kendrick+London retained their tag titles, and Finlay retained his U.S title. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Batista injured Ken Kennedy: according to WWE.com | Quote: | | during the match he suffered a severe laceration of the scalp that exposed his cranium after having his head rammed into the steel steps outside the ring. More than 20 stitches were required to close the wound, |
I hope WWE warns Batista about this. Kennedy just recovered from injury, WWE doesn't need to lose him again. Batista needs to watch himself, and not be so rough. I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time Batista has hurt someone, due to him being too reckless.
King Booker beat Rey Mysterio to win the World title (after Chavo Guerrero interfered). Eh, it was predictable Chavo would turn. But I really hate Booker as champ now, when WWE plans to give Batista the belt again pretty soon. I don't see them having Booker as a long champ, then Batista beating him at Wrestlemania. I see Batista winning at Summerslam (possibly a little later), then retaining the title for a while...unless he gets injured again or whatever.
As for the Punjabi Prison match, Undertaker won it... as expected. I hope this little Big Show/Undertaker feud doesn't move Undertaker to the ECW brand. He certainly should remain on Smackdown, in my opinion. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

I still think this was a work. From what I heard, Kennedy did get f-d up pretty bad, but it's just part of the business. Sometimes, it's really hard to tell which things from the WWE are actually "real".
As far as Booker being champ, I don't think he's gonna lose it at Summerslam. I do see them putting him in a program against Batista, but I don't see it ending after one month, since this could be a good feud. Their backstage fiasco from a few months ago that many fans know about can already add to the drama. If Booker is gonna lose the belt, I honestly don't see him losing it until Survivor Series. He's proved to be a pretty good "heel" and one of the more reliable wrestlers (who never seems to get hurt) during the past couple of months, so he deserves a run.
But, it's true, that the Great Khali stinks so much that he isn't even good enough to wrestle in a match that his character spent building up for the past month. I too think Undertaker will stay on Smackdown, I don't think they'll put him in ECW. It won't be a good fit.
But as far as GAB goes, you gotta give it to me for calling the Chavo turn before the PPV. I was sorta right about Big Show and Matt Hardy being on the PPV, but they weren't used how I thought they would've been. I was wrong about the US title match though. From what I heard, this was actually pretty decent, and a good watch for the "technical" "ability oriented" wrestling fans. _________________ [img:5f924247e9]http://obecorp.com.ru/banner.gif[/img:5f924247e9] |

Well, it seems like there is a big problem going around on Smackdown. Super Crazy, Bobby Lashley and Great Khali... all have had high enzyme levels and could possibly have hepatitis B (no cure and easily spread..). So that's not good at all, but at least WWE caught it now (and not later, when even more people could've possibly got it)
It was planned Crazy would face Helms, so Hardy was a last minute replacement.
In other WWE news and notes, Kid Kash has a "personal issue" to deal with and will be off Smackdown for about a month. Kash's partner, Jamie Noble will be off as well, since they are tag partners. In my opinion, they should just go with a storyline that explained Kash's disappearance, then have Noble be in singles until he returns.
Kasey James and Aaron Stevens might debut on Smackdown, to fill the void of the Pit Bulls being gone.
I hope Smackdown doesn't suffer anymore losses. Lashley, Khali, Crazy, Kash+Noble (Pit Bulls), Mark Henry, Paul Burchill: that's 7 people off now. Plus it could be 8, depending on how serious Ken Kennedy's injuries turn out to be. I suppose on a good note, this could help some people shine that wouldn't shine otherwise.
In one more Smackdown note, it looks like Finlay might turn face (mainly due to the fact there isn't many faces on Smackdown).
ECW preview for tonight: ECW champ Big Show vs Kane. I smell another dud main event. Come on WWE, why can't Show wrestle people actually in the ECW brand? Kane/Big Show has been way overdone in my opinion. They have wrestled too many times over the years. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Smackdown is tonight, I'm hoping for a good show (even though many people will be missing due to the recent enzyme problem going around).
Did anyone watch the Cubs game yesterday? Rowdy Piper threw out the first pitch. I was hoping he would be at the broadcast booth to talk during part of the game, but he wasn't. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Raw is tonight: Shawn Michaels vs Umaga, I.C champ Johnny Nitro vs Shelton Benjamin vs Carlito are the only 2 confirmed matches. Also on the show: Randy Orton is expected to spoof Hogan's show "Hogan Knows Best". Plus another Diva Search finalist is eliminated. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

IMO, Raw didn't seem that great. For the most part, it just seemed like a different variation of the show they put on last week. The IC triple-threat match was pretty good though. I also liked the Ric Flair and Mick Foley confrontation. IMO, I think Foley has had the upper hand in the microphone over Flair. I don't think it's right that the WWE tries to push the fans to cheer for Ric. They should just let them cheer for whoever they want.
Since ECW this week is a separate taping from Smackdown (supershow was yesterday), it looks like they may have be a decent show tonight. From the card they have so far, it probably won't be as bad as some of the previous shows. Kurt Angle is returning, CM Punk makes his debut, Dreamer & Sandman takes on Knox & Test, and Batista and Big Show should be interesting to watch. It's true that they are once again doing the "interpromotional" main event deal, but it's been working for them, which is the reason why they are probably doing it. ECW's rating is in the 2-2.5 range, and that is over Sci-Fi channel's overall average rating. _________________ [img:5f924247e9]http://obecorp.com.ru/banner.gif[/img:5f924247e9] |

ECW was basically another bad show once again. Here is a quick recap:
-Test and Mike Knox beat Tommy Dreamer and Sandman in a hardcore match. END this feud already, people don't care alot about Knox or Test.
-CM Punk beat Justin Credible. Punk is impressive, but I would've preferred someone better than Credible.
-Kurt Angle beat Brooklyn Brawler. What a joke.... Angle could've fought someone much much better.
-Batista beat ECW champ Big Show by DQ. Eh... yet another lame DQ finish. This ECW isn't going to work, if there is DQ finishes week after week. The old ECW had all no rules matches, and still had plenty of technical/non-hardcore matches that didn't involve just weapon shots. I don't see why they don't just make all matches hardcore, so the DQ rule is thrown out already.
Also on the show: Fertig the Vampire is now called Kevin Thorn. They kept pushing the idea of Sabu not getting an ECW title shot. I can bet it will be Big Show vs Sabu at Summerslam, with Sabu winning it. Followed by Sabu+RVD feuding over the title, plus Angle in the mix as well.
I will admit the show had a few good parts, but was still alot of the same old garbage. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Jeff Hardy is back with WWE.
I think it's a dumb move on WWE's part. I can just imagine Jeff will no-show events and be late (like before in TNA and WWE as well I believe), then get fired again.
I can bet a Hardy Boys reunion will happen (just to please the Hardy Boys fans... ), blah!
In my opinion, Matt is the better of the Hardy brothers...and should remain in singles. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

I actually thought ECW actually put on a solid show on Tuesday (with the exception of the main event). The tag-team match, I thought, actually started the show off right, and was action packed & decently gruesome in it's own right. CM Punk had an impressive debut against Justin Credible, but it was pretty competitive. Honestly, even though it was just filler, I even found Kurt Angle's match to be a bit entertaining (just because of the headbutt).
The main event was pretty horrible though. I don't believe that ECW is truly ECW if it has matches with DQs. This match could have had the possibility of being a pretty good match, but hearing the crowd's reaction all throughout that match, it was far from it. There was just too much slow paced high impact bordem that you'd expect from big wrestlers. I do agree that ECW should get rid of the DQ matches. Otherwise, they'd lose their identity and what they were truly known for.
As far as Jeff Hardy coming back, I think it should be interesting. Jeff Hardy should be fully aware of how the WWE is when it comes to their drug policy, and I don't think the WWE would have hired him back if he seriously wasn't doing anything to help himself. Back when Jeff was on RAW, I actually enjoyed him as a singles wrestler. If the Hardy Boys do reunite, I think he's gonna carry the team, just like the first time around. Matt Hardy's got limited charisma, and imo, is no where near as exciting to watch as his brother. _________________ [img:5f924247e9]http://obecorp.com.ru/banner.gif[/img:5f924247e9] |

Raw is tonight, so far announced for it is:
-Triple H vs Umaga
I can somehow bet it will be a beatdown on Triple H to end Raw, just like how Shawn got beatdown on last week's Raw
-Randy Orton vs Jerry Lawler
Blah, I hate how they have announcers wrestle. I realize Lawler is a part-time wrestler still, but he still doesn't belong in the ring just to help Orton with his "legend killer" gimmick. WWE should just bring in some other legends or older stars for one time appearances.
-Another Diva Search finalist will be kicked off
I don't care about this much, but it's just lame... WWE has already hired an eliminated finalist to a deal. This happened other years as well. So it's a safe assumption to say this: being a finalist usually guarantees you a spot in WWE, even if you don't win 1st place.
In other WWE news, Hulk Hogan apparently is injured and might not wrestle Orton at Summerslam. If Hogan doesn't wrestle, I can imagine Summerslam buys being down a bit.
Expected other matches for Summerslam (that aren't announced yet): Rey Mysterio vs Chavo Guerrero, Bobby Lashley vs Finlay, Spirit Squad vs Highlanders.
Also, Lita might not resign with WWE. Her contract is up pretty soon.
In some ECW news, Boogeyman might join the brand upon his return. Same goes for Rene Dupree, who wrestled at a ECW brand house show recently. CW Anderson is now known as Christopher W Anderson, since the CW network is coming soon. _________________ http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Hit the nail on the head on this one.

I also think that Lawler belongs in the commentating booth rather than the ring, but it's obvious why he faced Orton this week. They were in Memphis! Something always happens with Lawler in Memphis.

Not necessarily. I think if a girl has a look, and looks like she's willing to work, rather than just be there to take air time, they'd probably get signed somehow, possibly in developmental contracts if they don't win. The runner-up from last year didn't get signed, but the two under her did because they actually looked like they wanted it. Honestly, I thought the girl who was eliminated last week, Rebecca had a pretty good chance because she was decently entertaining, which is probably why they signed her to a developmental contract anyway. Personally, I hope this year, that girl Layla El wins it. I don't think she's the prettiest out of all the ladies, but she has a really unique look and attitude that can fit in with the company. That other girl, Milena, seems kind of like an Ashley ripoff, and the other two just seem like the eyecandy T&A that come around every year.
But for Summerslam, I like the fact that they made the Foley and Flair "I Quit" match. This could probably be the "showstealer" or the best match in the card, and it's safe to say that many are expecting that. Even though both Flair and Foley are past their prime, they showed that they can still deliver some big matches. Good promo between the two tonight also, IMO.
My thoughts on some of the actual and potential matches of the card...
I too think it's obvious that Rey vs Chavo is gonna happen. This could also be a good match. It probably won't be as good as the Rey vs Eddie match last Summerslam though (which I was on hand to see live). But, I think that the US title match will be the triple threat match that was supposed to take place in GAB. Sabu vs. Big Show will probably take place too, I'm guessing. Sabu fights Kurt Angle for the #1 contendership for the ECW title on the ECW show. I somehow think that the Hogan-Orton match will still happen. For some reason, I think that this might be a work, and the WWE is actually making Hogan's knee injury look worse than it actually is, just to give him some time off and a reason to not to have to appear on TV before the actual PPV. A torn meniscus isn't that bad anyway. I wrestled with a torn meniscus in high school. And lastly, Taker has a big task ahead of him, if he's the one who has to put Khali over.
Regardless, I kinda like how they're slowly developing the card, and it looks like they will actually develop a good card for Summerslam, rather than throwing a bunch of matches together in the last minute, like in other PPVs. _________________ [img:5f924247e9]http://obecorp.com.ru/banner.gif[/img:5f924247e9] |
