The next PPV for WWE is Smackdown's "No Way Out". It's only a few weeks away, and here is the card so far:

-World champ Kurt Angle vs Undertaker

This match has been done in the past, and usually was pretty good. I'm expecting a great main event.

-Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton (If Orton wins, he gets Rey's Wrestlemania title shot)

While I do like both of these wrestlers, it's pretty obvious Rey will be winning. I somehow think WWE doesn't even care if they exploit Eddie's death anymore. It's pretty wrong in my opinion, but oh well. All I have to say is, Rey better not win at Wrestlemania. He is great and all, but certainly doesn't need a world title (which is basically given to him, because his friend died).

No other matches are confirmed for No Way Out yet. But from the looks of things, the rest of the card could look like this:

-U.S champ Booker T vs Chris Benoit and/or Boogey Man

-Bobby Lashley vs JBL

-Tag champs MNM vs Mexicools

Plus some random matches thrown in, to fill the 3 hours.

I recently bought 2 wrestling DVD's, and both are very good. I got Jake "the snake" Roberts: Pick Your Poison and TNA: Best of the X Division Volume 1.

After finally having get to see it, I do have to agree with a lot of people, that there were a lot of disappointments in the Royal Rumble.

I do agree with a lot of people, that the JBL and Boogeyman match was probably one of the worst things you can do to promote the brand. Even though I didn't really like JBL as a champ when he was the champion (just because I believed that he was just thrown into the main event spotlight and stayed there in 10 months, without proving himself), I just don't agree with anything that happened in that match.

As far as Cena becoming the champ, I also agree that it was a bad move by the WWE. Edge deserved a longer title reign that he had. IMHO, he undoubtedly delivered in the past couple of weeks that he was the champ, even defending the belt in a TLC match. With that kind of dedication, how can you not keep the strap on him? Having met Cena in a meet and greet, he is one of the more personable Superstars that you could meet, so a lot of fans like him. But the fact that it seems that the WWE is trying to make a lot of fans like him, just tends to give it the reverse effects. Which is too bad, cuz Cena probably does a lot for the WWE. He probably would lose it again at or before Wrestlemania.

And with Rey Mysterio winning the Royal Rumble, I have no beef against that. I actually think that him actually getting a chance to main event will be great for the WWE. If he had a match with Kurt Angle, it will be very entertaining to watch. But, I also disagree with the fact that they are overly using Eddie Guerrero's name in the storylines. It's only been a few months after his death, and they think it's okay to use him as a storyline, even going as far as Randy Orton's cheap heat? I think that is just plain disrespectful.

I am looking forward to No Way Out though (since I will be live in Baltimore to see the Pay-Per-View). My current comments on it will be on my next post...

Here's what I think about the No Way Out card so far...

Bobby Lashley vs. JBL - I agree with this pairing, unlike the JBL and Boogeyman match in the Royal Rumble. This is one match I am interested in seeing in the PPV. If you want to get one of your young, more talented, and physically gifted up-and-comers over with the fans, you should have him go against one of the more hated individuals in your roster.

U.S champ Booker T vs Chris Benoit - I don't agree with the WWE putting the strap on someone who is injured, much less having him win it when he is injured. But, they already have done a really good job building up this match with their best-of-whatever series, so it should be an interesting match. As far as the Boogeyman's involvement, if he does anything like he did in the last PPV to take away from a good match, I would be very disappointed.

Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton - I'd be highly disturbed if I see Randy Orton win this match. Even though it was just a story-line, it was highly disturbing that the WWE would use Eddie's name the way they did. So unless the WWE is stupid and doesn't wanna lose some fans, Rey will probably win this match. Besides, I honestly think him and Kurt Angle would be a better match than Orton-Angle, just because I always really liked Angle's feuds with the smaller wrestlers (HBK, Benoit, etc).

World champ Kurt Angle vs Undertaker - Should be GREAT! I think if you put two of the best performers in the business in a main event, you are bound to get your money's worth. Even though Undertaker's style doesn't really matchup well with Kurt Angle's (as much as other wrestlers anyway), it would still be a heck of a match. If we are lucky enough to see Undertaker dive over the top rope to the outside like he used to, then that would definitely make it more interesting. Cool

Those are all my opinions about No Way Out for now. After this weekend, I will definitely give more opinions (hopefully saying how good the show was). But in other news, Christian Cage is the new NWA champion. Won the belt in TNA's Against All Odds PPV (which I heard was a great PPV top to bottom). Definitely a deserving champion IMO. Cool

Personally I'm glad to see Orton beat Rey...it looked odds-on that Mysterio would have a fairytale run to WM and then beat the world champion there, which wouldn't be right IMO

The way they've gone about the whole Orton/Mysterio thing sucks though, using Eddie's name to spark a rivalry

In my opinion, No Way Out wasn't that great.

Here is a quick rundown of the results:

Pre-show: Boogey Man beat Simon Dean

No Way Out: Cruiserweight champ Gregory Helms won a 9-way cruiserweight match, Tatanka+Matt Hardy beat WWE tag champs MNM in a non-title match, Chris Benoit beat U.S champ Booker T to win the title, Randy Orton beat Rey Mysterio to win a World title shot at Wrestlemania, World champ Kurt Angle beat Undertaker.

From the looks of it, Kurt will be defending against both Rey+Randy. I think it's pretty stupid for WWE to have Rey lose. Basically everyone knows, WWE wants to have Rey win at Wrestlemania under this whole "I did it for Eddie" storyline garbage.

As for the rest of Wrestlemania, I think the card will probably look like this:

Smackdown matches:

World champ Kurt Angle vs Randy Orton vs Rey Mysterio

Bobby Lashley vs Finlay

Raw matches:

WWE champ John Cena vs Triple H

Kane vs Chris Masters

Shawn Michaels vs Vince McMahon

Edge vs Mick Foley

Plus Chris Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, Boogey Man, Undertaker and others will be in matches I bet.

I actually saw WWE No Way Out live in Baltimore. I've actually posted some pictures here. Click on the WWE No Way Out album to see them.

I don't know what you were watching Rob1981, but I actually thought No Way Out was a well-put together card and was one of the better PPVs that the WWE put out lately. Anyways, I'm gonna offer my thoughts on this PPV and other wrestling related thoughts in the next few posts. (I would do it all on one post but since the maximum PBPP per post is 55, I would rather get my money's worth).

WWE No Way Out:

Pre-match: The Boogeyman defeated Simon Dean.

Kind of a snoozer of a match that we've seen already. Looks like the folks at talent development can't take the Boogeyman character any further.

Cruserweight division match: Gregory Helms wins

It was a pretty good match, filled with enough high-flying and fast-paced action that the Cruserweight division is supposed to be known for. Pretty good finish after Helms sneaked in for the pin, after Kid Kash and Super Crazy hit their respective finishing moves. They should have some kind of Cruserweight match in Wrestlemania. It should give the division a little bit of exposure that it deserves.

JBL defeated Bobby Lashley

Also a pretty good match. I said before that if you wanted to get one of the young up-and-coming talents further over, you should put them in a match with one of the more hated heels on the roster. The match started out with Finlay trying to do something bad to Kristal Marshall, which led to a Lashley run-in, and JBL quickly dropped in to start the match and try to gain a quick advantage. Even though Bobby Lashley lost, he still was really impressive in the match, doing moves on JBL such as a delayed vertical suplex, and 4 consecutive belly-to-bellys. JBL won after Finlay hit Lashley with his cane, and JBL hit the clothesline from hell. Personally, I think that Lashley losing the match was what was supposed to happen. You can't have JBL stock fall down any further, considering that he was once a main-eventer.

More thoughts on the next post...

Batista returns

Glad to see the guy back, and so was the rest of Baltimore. The ovation was huge! Not sure if he'll be back by Wrestlemania, but it would definitely be nice to see him involved some how.

Tatanka and Matt Hardy defeated MNM (non-title match)

Undoubtedly the worst match on the card IMO, and pretty much the only match I didn't really like. Tatanka is old, and he wasn't really that great. It's bad enough when the WWE just throws wrestlers together and call them a tag-team, but to do it with Tatanka is just crap, IMO. MNM is probably one of the more talented tag-teams in the WWE and to have them lose wasn't a great move IMO. Plus some inside information, on the event T-shirt that I bought, it clearly said this match was a WWE tag-title match (Tatanka's name was already on the shirt also). But apparently after the match finished, the title didn't change hands. Guess they changed it in the last second. Booo! Evil or Very Mad

Chris Benoit defeated Booker T for the US Title

This was also a pretty good match. It has had good buildup the past few months, so it just made it that much better. Started out as Booker T trying to forfeit the US title, but later blindsiding Benoit to start out the match. The match had it's moments, but everyone had a pretty good feeling that Benoit was gonna win that match. Booker didn't really do that title much good since he didn't even win it. Benoit locked in the Sharpshooter, then locked in the Crippler Crossface to pick up the win. Not sure if this is the end of the feud for now, but we'll see. With all the Booker-Benoit conflicts in history, hopefully, one day, we'll see them feud for the World Title.

Randy Orton defeated Rey Mysterio to win the Wrestlemania title shot

With the exception of the ending, this was also a really good match. Randy Orton worked on Rey Mysterio's arm during the whole match, and Rey used his speed, as usual. That ringpost swing that Randy did to Rey was probably a big highlight in that match. Since Vicki and Chavo Guererro made an appearance backstage, I thought he was actually gonna win, and so did a lot of the crowd. So you just can't help to be a little disappointed to see the match end by Randy grabbing the ropes.

I'm not sure what this means for Wrestlemania, but according to this match Randy Orton is gonna be in the Main Event. For some reason, I have a feeling that they might try to work Rey in there somehow, and might make the main event as an homage to Eddie Guerrero in some way. I don't think that the WWE using Eddie's name as a story line is right, and they've went about it the wrong way. But I definitely think this buildup between Rey and Randy is gonna lead up to Wrestlemania some how.

Thoughts on the Main Event (and others) on the next post

I have a lot of thoughts about the Main Event so I decided to give it it's own post...

Kurt Angle defeated the Undertaker to retain the World Heavyweight Championship

This match was great!!! It more than met up to my expectations! Going into the match, I was a little bit worried because Kurt Angle's style doesn't really match up to the bigger and high impact wrestlers, as well as with the smaller technical-minded wrestlers (his matches with Mark Henry last month is a great example). But pretty much any time you put Kurt Angle in the main event, you have a pretty good shot at getting your money's worth since he is arguably one of the best in the business.

But this match had some great moments. My personal favorite was when Kurt Angle placed the figure four on the Undertaker on the ring-post, ala Bret "the Hitman" Hart. We definitely saw Kurt Angle and the Undertaker, giving it pretty much all they can. Kurt did some magnificent moves like the Angle Slam on the announce table and getting out of the Last Ride powerbomb and Tombstone Piledriver. But what also astounded me was The Undertaker's ability to adapt to Kurt's style. Doing that just made that match a whole lot better! The match ended with the Undertaker applying a triangle choke on Angle, and Angle reversing it with a bridge to pick up the victory. Definitely, one of the better matches I've ever seen in person. Should definitely be get an early "Match of the Year" consideration, because I really thought it was that good!

Apparently, as of now, it looks like Randy Orton will fight Kurt Angle for the title in Wrestlemania. Like I said, they probably will work Rey in there some how. It should be interesting to see what they are going to do during the next couple of weeks to finalize a main event for Wrestlemania. I do believe that you should involve Angle in the Main Event somehow. If No Way Out was any indication of how Kurt Angle can be a main event draw, it would be wrong to not put him in the WM main event.

My other WM thoughts are on the next post...

As far as my other Wrestlemania thoughts, not really sure what to think about the HHH vs. Cena match, but I really hope HHH wins the belt back. Although I think there may possibly be unlikely, because the WWE is staying stuck trying to shove Cena down the WWE fans' throats. They might try to use this match to try to get Cena over again, with probably the most proven main-event draw in the business in HHH. If Cena does his part and delivers his end during the match, fans probably won't boo him as much. In most of his matches, his opponents usually carry the matches (ie: Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Edge, etc). Although I will admit that Cena may be improving just a bit, because him catching Edge in mid-air last Thursday on RAW, and turning it into an FU was somewhat impressive.

I think it's a mistake to have a HBK vs. Vince McMahon match. Vince McMahon is a old grandfather who doesn't belong in the ring in a match. This feud between him and Shawn will probably culminate somehow in WM though.

Also, it looks like there may be another Money in the Bank ladder match, with Carlito the only known participant as of now. But it would definitely be nice to see RVD involved in this match, and win it, because he is probably one of the more underappreciated deserving talents in the WWE. Others that also may be involved: Chris Masters, Kane, Big Show, Chris Jericho (hopefully makes his return), etc.

As far as the other possible matches, I don't really care too much about them yet. I know Edge is gonna beat Mick Foley. The Women's division doesn't really interest me, but they'll probably have a match too. They probably should involve matches with the Intercontinental and the US Titles.

Well, I think I've yapped enough today. Cool

Money in the Bank 2, is just a rumor. It might happen or might not. Chris Jericho probably wont return to WWE. He is busy with his band right now, and it's doubtful he will be back in WWE anytime soon. Putting big men like Big Show in a ladder match is just dumb, and wrecks the match. If a money in the bank happens, it should be Masters, RVD, Carlito and then 3 guys from Smackdown. That would make it more entertaining in my opinion.

Hall of fame inductees so far: Bret Hart+Eddie Guerrero. While I agree with both those choices, WWE could've waited a year or more to put Eddie in. It's not like it makes a big difference if he goes in the hall this year, next year or any year after. He was a great wrestler, and did earn his hall of fame spot, it's just too soon in my opinion. WWE is basically using Eddie's death, to put him in the hall early. That's just wrong, just like the whole Rey/Orton storyline that is exploiting Eddie's death.

In other WWE news, The Dicks have recently been fired by WWE. I somehow figured they wouldn't last. Their gimmick has been done in various ways over the years, and it's just stale now.

The Raw/Smackdown supershow is this Monday in Washington, DC. Smackdown tapings first, followed by a live Raw. Apparently, all superstars in WWE are scheduled to be at the event (backstage obviously, they won't all be on TV). Vince has a big announcement in store for them. My guess is massive firings, or show changes (new draft) right away.

Dude, I'm guessing you didn't watch Carlito's segment on RAW Monday. If you did, you didn't pay a lot of attention. Judging from that segment, I'd say Money in the Bank 2 is more than just a rumor, it is likely going to happen. It would be pointless for Carlito to mention it, if that match won't happen. It's just a question of who is gonna be in that actual match.

As far as Chris Jericho, he has been gone for a while already, and since he had the original Money in the Bank idea in WM 21, I figured it would be a good time for him to come back and be involved in this match some how. I've checked his official website, and although he has a radio show, it doesn't look like he's as busy as he was with his band when he was "fired". And as far as putting Big Show in the match, I agree that it ain't typical to put big people in a ladder match, but it's different and it should just make it more interesting. IMO, WWE needs to find a way to push the envelope and re-invent some of their matches. Possibly placing a slow enormous piece of mass like the Big Show in a ladder match might do that. Besides it didn't really hurt the ladder match last year when Kane was involved. As far as putting Smackdown guys, that's probably unlikely, since last year, Money in the Bank is for a title shot for the RAW belt. But, if they change up the rules so they made it that the contract hanging up is good for either brand's top belt, then that's a different story. It would be interesting to see an inter-promotional MIB ladder match. But another possibility of someone who can be involved in this match in RAW might be Ric Flair. I know he's old, but he's already been in a ladder match this year, and he can still take a lot of bumps despite how old he is.

Nah, it's never too early. Putting Eddie in the Hall of Fame early is more in recognition to his accomplishments and his tremendous impact and passion he had in the business, rather than an exploitatation to his death. This is far different from the story line they are using with Rey and Orton, IMO. The way I see it, the WWE thought that Eddie was such a great individual and touched a lot of the people that he worked with, that he deserves WWE's highest honor this soon. I'm sure a lot of the fans feel this way too.

I was actually gonna go to this show, but I couldn't since it was my nephew's birthday. Ah well, I went to No Way Out and saw some pretty good matches so I ain't complaining. Some interesting developments should take part, hopefully concerning Wrestlemania. But for RAW, their WWE.com preview is already up, and it's already pretty much confirmed that there will be some kind of Edge and Foley confrontation, along with Marty Jannetty possibly joining Mr. McMahon's "kiss my a$s" club. Trish Stratus will also defend the Women's title against Candice Michelle (probably some more PR for Candice's upcoming Playboy layout). RAW still doesn't have a GM, I wonder when Vince is gonna hire one. Unlikely this week, but I'm guessing probably before Wrestlemania.

Apparently a wrestling show is coming to syndicated cable channels this year. The wrestling promotion is called "Adrenaline Unleashed".

www.adrenaline-unleashed.com

To me it looks like just an indy fed, and nothing special. I somehow don't think it will last. This new promotion won't last, and neither will the MTV wrestling promotion.

In case you don't know about the MTV promotion, they had a TV taping earlier this month. They had some bigger names, like Vampiro and X-Pac. To even be in the audience, they wanted you to look good and wear certain clothes. The whole event was a mix of music and wrestling. They were trying for an underground fight club, but it just looked bad in my opinion. You don't just force fans to wear a certain thing, or look a certain way.

Smackdown last night, simply had to be one of the WORST Smackdowns in recent months.

SPOILERS, in case you haven't seen it yet or whatever.
.
.
.
.
.
.

The main focus of the show was Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio. As many of you know, Orton beat Mysterio to win Rey's World title shot at Wrestlemania. Orton came out, and bragged about his family being the best. Chavo Guerrero attacked Orton to end the segment. Later in the show, Rey Mysterio came out and apologized to everyone for losing. Then Teddy Long came out, and put Rey in the World title match at WM, making it a triple threat match.

What the hell is WWE thinking? If they wanted Rey in the main event so bad, they shouldn't even had him lose to Orton. With the way things are, the Orton/Rey match didn't really do much to help the storylines out. Orton won the title shot, but that's okay, because Rey gets in? Come on now, that has to be one of the stupidest things EVER. I somehow bet Rey will "dedicate" his WM match to Eddie, and then win. WWE is exploiting Eddie's death too much. Rey wouldn't be in the main event, if Eddie was alive and I know it. Rey is talented, but certainly no main eventer. Rey is basically going to be champ, because he was a good friend of Eddie and that's basically it. The fans love Rey even more, because he mentions Eddie so much and he dedicates everything to him.

But anyway, onto the other garbage that happened on Smackdown. Paul Burchill was up to his usual tricks. He is a pirate, in case you didn't know. He had a fake bomb, and lit it to scare William Regal. Pretty stupid, and I hope Paul gets fired soon. This isn't entertaining.

Speaking of not entertaining, Boogey Man beat The Dicks in a handicap match. Then he poured tons of worms on the announce table to scare off Booker T. Boogey Man is in his 40's, and is untalented in the ring. This worm junk needs to just end. I'm sure the fans will find it stale hopefully sooner than later. It's pretty pathetic, that at WM, Booker T will be facing him probably.

Last but not least, in the main event JBL got injured for real. His hand is broke and is expected to miss 2-3 months probably. You can thank Chris Benoit for being reckless, which caused this. During the match, when JBL was outside of the ring, his hand got stuck in the steel steps. Benoit then kicked his hand. Benoit should be punished for this, even if it was an accident. This bit of carelessness, isn't the first time Benoit has hurt someone during a match.

The only good part of Smackdown was the tag title and cruiserweight title matches. Apparently, Helms has to defend his title each week on Smackdown. With the looks of things now, I'm thinking his match will be the only thing worth watching each week.

I think it's really strange to put Rey in the title match at Wrestlemania again. What's the whole point in having a match for the right to go to WM when you lose it and still can get into that match? I sincerely hope that Rey doesn't win at Wrestlemania because he is no champ. Not at all. He's a cruiserweight and does not look real amongst all the men in the heavyweight division. Imagine him defending the title against the Undertaker ... ridiculous. It would be a great shame for the title in my opinion to have him as champion. Nothing against small people but that's not their spot in WWE.

Have you heard the latest rumor (written by a blogger) that Eddie Guerrero could still be alive? He believes his death is a big ruse, a storyline to give all the internet smartmarks the middle finger. Eddie would get back at Wrestlemania announcing "I lied" - which would certainly be a big shock to everybody. The author of that rumor made quite a few good points on why you could believe this (Eddie's book being called "Cheating Death" being amongst them). I don't think it's true, it would be too huge to pull off, but an interesting thought nonetheless.
