Probably I am wrong, but you could try the option mentioned at the bottom of the KB articles (I mean compat mode).

Compat mode is the mode setup for Zend and Ioncube.

Currently using PHP 4.4.4 with Zend 2.6 and Ioncube 3.1.

We cannot support Zend 3.x due to many segmentation faults when using it.
