What's your favorite zombie movie?
One I was really impressed by was 28 weeks later. It really impressed me because it was very well made and directed- it even had me jump once or twice. Which is saying a lot because most scary movies I can't help but laugh at.
As far as older movies go, I think that Dawn of the Dead was very good for its time. These days, it doesn't really seem too great. It has some good laughs in it still though.
My favorite quote: "Why don't you just drink a tall glass of shut the f*ck up!"
And going even further back into time, I'd say that land of the dead was good for it's age.
how about you? Like any zombie flicks?
(And on a different note, I actually think the best zombie flicks are the dreams I occasionally have about being rampaged by a flood of zombies. There's nothing like waking up early with your heart pounding after taking a shovel to a zombie's throat ) _________________ learn networking |

I'm not a huge Zombie movie fan, but I did like Dawn of the Dead. The movie had more of a comedy to it than most of the movies do. Usually when I find myself watching a zombie movie, I feel that usually it's quite boring and repetitive, at least this film had me laughing quite a bit. Sure, it was a bit predictable, but being caught in a mall and having all the zombies in the world waiting around you including some of the biggest actors around. It had me laughing off the hook.
Another movie that I liked was Shaun of the Dead. It was another one that had me laughing, it was stupid humor, but the main character played a great part and was able to make his character into quite the comedian and the plot was very funny. Those two would be tied for my top spot. |

I really like reading books in which zombies are heavily featured, but I never saw a Zombie themed movie. It would be cool if there was an 'Anita Blake' film - this series of books has lots and lots of lovely zombies in different settings and functions. _________________ Tarakana NET |

The last zombie movie (and one of the only zombie movies I've ever seen) is Planet Terror, the latest movie by Robert Rodriguez. It's so wonderfully over-the-top and I really enjoyed it from the first to the last minute I don't know if it really qualifies as a real zombie movie, because it seems like they're mocking the Zombie-movie genre. But none the less, it's great and it has zombies so it does belong in this topic
I don't know if anyone has seen this movie, but you really should. Just don't take the movie too seriously or you'll end up wondering what the hell they were thinking while writing this _________________ .// Proud to be Lifeless for more then 4 years \\. |

I've only seen a few zombie movies.
28 Days Later: This was alright, but nothing too special.
Resident Evil, Resident Evil Apocalypse: These are based on the video games, with a lot of new things not in the games. I enjoyed both of these. I will wait for DVD to see the third movie in the series, since I don't go to theaters much. _________________ http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

Apocalypse was horribly made. I didn't enjoy it all. The first Resident Evil movie was killer though. It's odd how the first one was so good, and the second one looked like it had a budget of $10.
The next Resident Evil movie coming out looks good though! _________________ learn networking |

| The thing is, you guys are talking about the WRONG Dawn of the Dead. The best Dawn of the Dead is the original Black and White movie. It is the ultimate ending. Sucks to be that guy, too. |

I've seen the original version, or to be honest a piece of it, and I didn't like it actually. The zombies look so unreal and because of that the movie looks funny to me In my opinion, a zombie movie needs good special effects and realistic zombies or the movie gets more comedy than horror. _________________ .// Proud to be Lifeless for more then 4 years \\. |

| Well you have to understand the time it was made there were not all the special effects of today. After all it is in black and white. You have to go on the story more than the effects. That is what makes a classic movie. The quality. These days you can throw together a piece of crap story and acting, add in great special effects and it becomes a box office smash. Back in the day you had to have good acting and story lines. Why do you think so many old movies are being re-made. |

The whole point of the original zombie movies is that it didn't look realistic.
All you young dudes have been spoiled!!!!
now, the new Dawn of the Dead was cool - went to see it at the cinema with my mom - it was cool - i especially liked the close up on the girl having her belly piercing ripped out by a zombie's mouth - classic!!!
Shaun of the dead is way cool, and very very well made.
But if you really want to see a good classic zombie movie, see the Brazilian undertaker movies from the 50s and 60s - I can't remember the character's name, but they were some trully bizarre movies - the thing with horror movies from back then, they didn't have a formula or template to work on, so everything was genuinely original.
PS if anyone can remember the name of the movies I am talking about, please post it here (I keep thinking UNdertaker Joe, but that does not sound Brazillian at alll!) _________________ For Metal and Rock interviews and reviews, go to www.heavymetalnation.com - You can Contribute too if you want!

28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, and the new Dawn of the Dead are all fantastic; most of the other zombie movies I've seen have been pretty weak, including Night of the Living Dead. If you ever want to invite some kids over and watch a terrible, terrible movie and not pay attention to it except to predict that the only black guy in the movie is about to die (he's the only black guy in the movie, of course he dies), I reccomend "Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave." _________________ [img:d156d322f3]http://seriousbusiness.l2p.net/img/seriousbanner.gif[/img:d156d322f3]

| ah but Duck, the best one for that is the original Dawn of the Dead. The black guy is the only one that survives to the end, only to be shot in the head by the cops. LOL |

I'm not a real fan of zombie movies, I've seen a lot of them though. The original version of Dawn of the Dead, in my opinion, was the best. Hell Of The Living Dead, Legion of the Night, Undead are a few I've seen, my brother loves zombie movies. I just love horror films the movie The Hills Have Eyes is considered a zombie film...right? :] _________________ “When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.”
